MY BUDDY'S '05 LEGACY GT TURBO HAS A PROBLEM.. THE TURBO IS BROKEN AND IT NEEDS REPLACED.. HOW SIMPL EOF A JOB IS THIS AND COULD WE SWAP THE TURBO REASONABLY IN MY GARAGE? THANKS.

It's not too bad if you have experience wrenching on cars:
- Remember to get new gaskets (between the turbo/uppipe and turbo/downpipe)
- The bolts will be on there good - spray them down with WD40 thoroughly. Big breaker bars help.
- Put thread-grease on all your threads so it'll be easier next time
- Easiest way to prime the oil into the turbo is to crank the car for 20 seconds with the cam/crank sensors unplugged.

Depends on if the DP bolts are blocked by the UP bolts. It took 3 days to get the bolts off of my GL turbo's turbo, but that might be a different beast completely.

An 05 GT is a cinch to swap parts out. If the turbo is lunched, then it should be a dealer replacement warranty job?
(I assume this, as you and your buddy don't seem to know how much of a job it would be)

If the car has under 60k, the turbo should be covered by the warranty still, unless the car is modified.
