This should be the last one, finally i got a 5spd.

these insurance companies class a ford Ka as a sports car because its a hatchback 2 door, its really getting to me, they want us to drive cars like a yaris or tercel :-/

The insurance thing stinks, but that is one hot ride!

Are you going to switch bumpers of did your old car get sold/traded already?

subba
03-12-2008, 10:22 AM
Thanks man

I am definately switching the bumper, suspension, Seats, Dash trimmings & Grill.

The rims that came with the GT-B are in perfect condition, NO curb damage, so i am keeping those as well, but i am throwing the 16's back on the white wagon when i am ready to sell it and keep the 17'in akuzas for AutoX because those buggers are light & it has like 95% thread life on em.

Any reccomendations on a Non OEM clutch? i read in another thread that is better to just upgrade the pullies and leave the stock flywheel.
(just confirming if thats correct)

Drive it as is until you get competitive at autox.

Wow, gorgeous rides. The GT-B interior is far better than the hideous blue green red and gray tweed that came with my car.

Font Strut bars & H Brace on the way :-)

Quick question, does this tranny use the same Clutch as the WRX?

Huffer

Why in the heck did you get a BOV and TT?
A BOV is pointless, the recirculating factory one is fine, and the turbo timer is a load of codswallop in terms of lengthening your reliability.

Gramps lol, yea he mentioned this in another thread about single turbo conversion. Ajoni, you should have gotten those parts from me bro!

BOV is the most stupid thing you can put on a car if your not running over 400hp. as for a clutch i would recommend to clutchs to you. one a spec clutch set i.e. pressure plate, clutch ,and flywheel. second i would recommend a OS Giken twin plate. they are so sexy. they will never slip of break. the OS would be the last clutch you ever put in your car. i have one OS that has been in 4 diff cars. the clutch is outlasting the cars.

thanks for the Clutch reccomendation, but i read somewhere here about flywheel probs, cant remember exactly what or where it is.

The Turbo Timer is goin on it, This island is a furnace.

I was thinking that the sequential twin turbo with single wastegate could use the upgraded BOV, i will do more AutoX than drag.

This car has so much hoses under the hood lol

the 2.0-2.5 flywheel is the same. for the mos part. also since you have basiclly a impreza motor the OS would be good. there is no point of a wastegate if you dont have over 400hp. i used to have one on my drift car tell some drifters that had been doing it a lot longer than me explained to me why it was so bad for your power. because you have internal wastegates on your stock turbos than you put on a BOV it takes your turbos 4x as long to bild up the boost again. just beleive me when i tell you after alot of drifting and grip racing, also seeing alot of drift/grip cars(most grip cars are subies) not one of them had a BOV. BOV are more of a sound effect to your car than anything.

Huffer

Correction - they do have a BOV - but it's a recirculating one, not a vent to atmosphere type.

Airgne
04-01-2008, 09:56 AM
yes internal wastegate

subba
04-01-2008, 10:16 AM
ok i got what you guys are saying, i am new to the whole performance modding scene so you guy might want to take time with me, my car does have a internal wastegate and the factory bov is recirculating, guess i shouldn’t have jumped the gun an got the BOV.

Side Note:
Just a lil tip, when someone is trying to learn something that you already know and they make a bad judgement, dont blast out on them saying they are doing something wrong then dont leave a explination why.

not everyone can handle the embarrassments like me, plus it makes new users scared to post

Exactly, keep the usual forum behavior outside of this one.

I'd just keep the BOV if I were you. My brother had a type S on his supra for years and the looks from pedestrians and comments from passengers have all been priceless.

My uncle had one on his evo5, we were driving and he shift out of 2nd and a lady was walking and talking on the phone, she ran like she stole something when she heard the blow off lol that was funny as hell.

Got something in the mail today, Might not sell the car because people offering me ridiculous amounts for it. I rather scrap it and cut my losses than give it away for cheap

Nice man, Nice.

And you CAN run external wastegates if your engine management is tuned for it.

I'm still jealous of your car. It's so awesome. Looks like Gran Tourismo will be the only chance I'll get to drive one.
