ok guys, i was driving home from skiing today and all of a sudden my CEL comes on.

so we get home and my roommate tries is Scan Gauge II on it and gets nothing. he then tries his cobb tuning computer thing. (forget what its called right now) and gets nothing from that either. wtf is up with this?

97 LGT auto.

I know for a fact that the SCII has to be correctly configured (it's an easy setting) for it to work on Subarus - it's in the manual. That might help.

how do you configure it? i set up the engine type and gas stuff. but the thing isn't reading anything real time besides the volts. everything else is laged. i got it to say 1 code stored... but that was like for half a second, i said view code and then it said that there were no codes and the CEL stayed on.

???

do you have access to live data. because if the rear o2 is over .500mhz it a bad cat

ok guys. so the CEL turned off and hasn't come back on.

but now i've gotten a 5mpg jump?!
any idea why this would be happening? is it running lean now?
now i don't want to change the o2 censor since its finally getting 25mpg like it is supposed to!

ok so i got it all set up right.. just took some fiddling around with...

P0420 - Cat. below efficiency threshold: Bank 1.

might be the plugs that i installed like 1-1.5k ago.. could be the cat or O2 sensor...

How did you set it up? im having the same prob on a friends 98 wagon, didnt think i needed to set up properly cause it works on anyother car when the CEL goes on.

also on the 98 the light goes off every once and a while then off every once and a while

please let me know how you set up the SGII as i have one of them as well
