After a few months of looking (and getting my heart broken) for a LGT wagon, I settled for this sedan because the price was right, and for once it was in MY state!

It's got 153k on it, stock motor and MT trans, no headgasket leaks, but the valve covers are leaking, so is the oil pump o-ring and/or cam seals.
Good thing I know a couple Subaru afficianados at work that helped me diagnose it.

Needs a right front door, a headlight or two, little things here and there, but I'm up for the challenge. Wanted to find something AWD, manual, in my price range that was NOT a truck, so that left me here.
Needed something smaller and better on gas and in the snow than my 2001 Crown Vic ex-cop car.

I heard these things are easy to mod. Hopefully once I get the bugs worked out of it I can lightly modify it to my liking.
The cheap and easy route is always best!
I used to have a '95 Neon that was ghetto as hell but it was quick, and the mods didn't cost more than $30 each (CAI, motor mounts, etc).

Hoping to have a ton of fun with this thing, and looking forward to learning alot here!

Welcome, you will notice the Legacy is a different animal to your Neon. I had a 97 GT now drive a 96 Neon and absolutely hate it.

Sorry to hear it.

Mine was a winter car, '95, SOHC, MT, glasspack, CAI, Pro-thane motor mount inserts, modified bobble strut, booger shifter bushings, no P/S, no A/C, American Racing AR-24s (light 14" wheels), primer black hood, purple trunk, peeling white paint elsewhere.

LOVED that car. Ugly, but it went.

Got rid of it because it was too small and we had a kid on the way. Silly, because the kid NEVER rides in my car. Got on the Crown Vic kick because I always wanted a Caprice or Vic, figured I'd always have one because they last forever. But the price of gas and the huge amount of snow we've had lately changed my mind.

Kinda like it always gets changed every 2-4 years. I seem to switch types of cars pretty regularily.

Ah, the snow. I feel your pain. Love having the AWD this year, as we are like 5" from setting the snowfall record here. Madison set a new high, I hear.

Nice car man!

You should check out 2.5GT's red legacy so you can have some ideas of what yours can look like with a few mods! Enjoy the suby! And oh.. if you want the factory service repair manual (you know u do), check out my sig! ;)

Thanks! Yeah i've been looking around. There's some nice BD's on here, including yours! Don't know if I want to go the JDM route, just want to get my door replaced and get the oil leaks fixed.
Been missing the car though, it's been at work for the past two weeks while I've been on 'vacation' due to the birth of my 2nd daughter. Get to go back tomorrow though!

Where's the oil leak? And is the driver side headlight totally smashed out?

If you're going to replace the headlights, please please please do not for an instant think of sticking with US headlights. The light output of the JDM's is so much crisper and better in every way.

I already bought a new headlight from dplacencia. Was thinking of going JDM for the better lighting, but just want to get it on the road for right now. It's not totally smashed, in fact, it looks like a new lamp, compared to the right.
BUT there is one missing tab, the other is broken (I re-epoxyed it), and the whole corner is busted, so the sidemarker socket falls out and the reflector is missing. I'll put it back to stock for now and later, after the oil leaks and door have been fixed, I'll probably upgrade to JDM head and tail lights. And maybe do a repaint. And some exhaust and intake. oooh, got to get my CD player in there, maybe upgrade the speakers....
That's after I get the leather fixed. Got some wear on the driver's seat and a burn hole on the passenger's.

I got some plans, and now that I'll be back on schedule, I'll get some stuff done with the car.

Got to drive it around the lot at work tonight.

Whoopee!

I'll be driving it home once my Vic runs out of gas, or I fix the oil leaks, or something.

Put the clutch pedal pad on, and fixed the headlight wiring. Slapped my licence plate on the back (no front bracket).

Baby steps.... baby steps.

Good to see another Wisconsinite on the boards. It is extremely hard to find good used Subarus around here under 10,000 dollars.
