Sucks, huh?
MAN I spent most of the morning lubing, heating, chiseling, hammering, etc on them things.
Left had play, but both boots were torn due to the n00bs who put in the axles and right bearing before I bought it.
New ones slid right in though.

I did both my ball joints too. They can be a bit off a pain.

yes it can. even worst when the bolts break and you spend the next 3hrs drilling and spend $20 on drill bits

I was lucky enough to have had the time to spray them down with the best rust penetrant evar (CRC Freeze Off) several times, so when I did use the impact on them they did slowly back out and did not snap. I thought THAT would have been the hard part. Yeah. For some reason I thought the old BJs... err... balljoints would plop right out.

ahh that was the worst job ever it was a first gen legacy the guy broke 3 head bolts, broke both balljoint bolts. then the guy refused to pay the 10hrs of labor so his car got completly strip and crushed into a cube and we gave it back  well we got the mechanics lean first

a little tip i've found useful.
smack the head of the bolt with a punch, and then turn it tighter a hair, then start backing it off.. also don't be stupid, if the bolt is rusted dont put it back! put a new one with some anti-seize on it, that way next time you dont feel so unsmart. :)
I just had them done by shop. Too much bother.

...if I had known.
Nah, I had a whole saturday to kill, and most of the tools needed (former light duty tech). I didn't need the car back on the road right away either.
But as far as re-using bolts, I put in aftermarket BJ' and they came with new bolts, castle nuts, and cotter pins.
