Hey guys, I'm thinking of "rebuilding" a mildly damaged BD.....Ideally one that needs an entire new engine/tranny.

You guys recommend a salvage yard, or anything?

There's a popular salvage auction site, but I can't seem to locate it. Any help would be swell

When you find a place with a few parts most likely they have the car too. I know a lot of places strip the cars when they come in and sell the good parts. There should be still a lot with yards full of whole cars.

That or find cars with blown HG or trannys.

Craigslist. This one popped up last week and really wanted it but we have too many cars now. It's perfect too, 1995, exempt from emissions here in Missouri.

That is essentially EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Jey is on the right track, as well.

I don't mind a bit of body damage, nothing to the frame, etc....

On topic, I wouldn't think it would be very difficult to find one with a blown HG or just one that's cheap.

I have been spending my day getting my new home build computer up and running...Coupled with the 6er of Icehouse tallboys I'm drinking.

I have no fucking clue what that leg means...ohh...maybe..I do. hahahahaaahah...oh shit.

But, Rob.....I think you understand me more than anyone. Didn't you do that exact same thing? But go 3rd gen?

Yeah I see what your going for, I was in the same boat a year and a half ago, I just got real lucky with my find. No mechanical damage, all cosmetic, in the end I have no more than $5k into the car, including buying the car itself. No car payment, it's nice. Yes it does help having a father than can do body work.

However, finding a Legacy that has engine problems would be on the very same idea if you are/know someone who is a good mechanic, just find one with a great body.
