I was wondering how much sound is held back by each, if i delete the cat will it be too loud and even obnoxious, and if i delete the resonater will it have enough rumble? Now Im saying i should i keep the res or the cat, and i will have an sti muffler on the end.

switch the cat to a random tech cat. if the STI piece is an axleback, then u can keep the resonator. if it is a catback, the resonator will be eliminated in the process. what year is ur car? there are aftermarket resonators that u can weld in to reduce the sound. hope this helps. i would recommend stromung. i have the catback and sounds awesome. good luck.

The headers and stock muffler are the biggest sound restrictors.
I have an STI axle-back and 2.25" mid-pipe and the car sounds quite nice.
Stock headers + cat.
You don't need to go crazy with the piping and do a mad-scientist setup to get a bit of rumble.

The car is a 99 sedan, I just didnt know which to get rid of. I thought if I got rid of the res. it might not be loud enough, and if i got rid of the cat and left the res. if it would be to loud and sound bad. The set up you have huffer is the one i was thinking about do you have any sound clips?
oh BTW Thanks for all the help i really needed it.
