Ive been hit with a lot of CELs lately... and I either clear them on my own or they go away after some time, but Ive noticed that more and more often Ive been getting a cylinder 1 misfire, P0301. What is this likely caused by and how serious is it likely to be? Car is a 98 BD with 115000 miles.

Have you done anything for maintenance in the past while?

Could be any number of things, but the easiest is always to say spark plug or wires. I know I had an occasional misfire, especially on wet days, and when I went to pull off my wire it just snapped in half

yeah spark plugs and wires were changed recently and thats about it. I do remember seafoaming the engine one day and the very next time i drove i got p0301... any chance the dirt picked up by the seafoam ended up on that spark plug or something? should i just try cleanin the cyl 1 plug?
