2003 BE ABS system - how painful on track or in autocross?

Hello everyone -

Probably the biggest annoyance I have with my 2003 Legacy sedan is the ABS calibration, seems like it's a little too abrupt or sensitive or something for me.

I'm wondering - how obtrusive is the system on a road course or during an autox session?

My Miata is currently disassembled so there is a very good chance I'll be driving the Leggy on track next weekend....

Run one session with the ABS on, run the next with the ABS fuse out.

Big annoyance is when youre on course and hit some road irregularity (bump, crack, etc.) while on the brakes, it tends to kick the ABS in. It doesn't happen all that often, like one time last year IIRC, but if you don't expect it, it's aggravating.

If anything, I would say it would help you most of the time over disabling it.

It will probably depend mostly on what type of tires you have. If they are decent then you shouldn't notice it too much.

Obviously tires are one of the most important parts of a track car. With that in mind, I'm using the stock RE92's....

Exactly. When I upgraded to Kumho MXs, the ABS barely does anything on the car anymore. Unless it's snowing :lol:
