Any idea why the reversing lights dnt work, where are the bulbs located?

Whistling noise with slight acceleration, is this the turbo?

what the best amount of time to set the turbo timer 2 its currently set to tow minutes to cool down?

thanks for all and any help :grin:

Any guides out there for changing the oil?

1) If all your reverse lights don't work it might be a fuse. Look in the fuse box under the hood.

2)Either the turbo or the intake.

1) if the lights don't work check the bulbs. They're in the back, in the hatch trim. Easy to find. If the bulbs are good, and the fuse is good, then it'll be the switch under the car linked into the transmission.

2)Whistling noise could be either intake, turbo, wind resistance or a combination of. It could also be normal.

3) turbo timer unnecessary on unmodified vehicles as Subaru built in a delay on the oil pump to help the turbos cool. Unless you've beaten on it roundly, in which case you should stay with the car and let it idle a bit and then shut it off.

4) change oil frequently, at least 4 times a year and use the correct grade. Synthetic is good to use if the car has been running on synth.

Its possible it also could be a worn accessory or crank belt or your pulleys could be slightly miss-aligned.

Take it to a dealership...if you're not that mechanical inclined.

ONly problem with taking it to a dealership is even if i only asked them a question they'd charge me and it'd be ridiculous - they seem to think they can hike the prices up coz its an import.
Found out last night that the importer or someone has wired up the rear light into the foglights instead - so now we have no rear light and cant work out how to sort it out!!! Took half the car apart trying to follow wires and such but gave up in the end!!!
