I swapped my old Varta battery for an enersys Odyssey PC1200 the other day. Before that i havent had this problem. Idles around 1000Rpm, Would bad ground make it go 500-600rpm? The check engine light lights up if i take my foot of the pedal for a couple of seconds and Rpm drops to 500.
And since i have allready started a topic. Where is the ideal places to ground the battery? Got one of them Performance ground kits from scoobyparts.com.
Thanks

sound like your batt is crap. if your eng didnt idle this way before you did the batt swap than i should be the batt. your alt is tring to charge the batt but it cant. the frame is the best spot to ground.

Electrical Systemsht up my clock.
A guy i know has a 1992 2.2 GX, he told me that the problem could be the Lambda Sonde (Dont know what it is in english) But it in the exhaust.

sometimes rare but sometimes even a new batt could be bad. as for in the exhaust cat getting plugged. more expericned ppl with subies would have to tell you.

Checked the battery before i put it in, it had 13volts on it. so by the manual it was redy to go. Maybe the connectors are bad. going to research on this. If i dont find the problem ill just use the school. (They take 1/4 of what regular shops take) Maybe the plugs are bad or filthy.
As for the Check Engine Code i have no idea. It just lights up.

Ok, here's the update.
I have fixed the Positive and the Ground connection until i get a new Batteryterminal. The RPM is now around 1000-1500 idle, but after a few seconds the damn Check Engine still lits up. It goes black again if i rew it. What is the problem?
Alternator?
Bad Wiring?

most likely the new battery. probally has a bad cell or two. and the alternator is going crazy to charge the battery. the CEL is probally a low volt, or high idle. if you have a voltmeter i would test the battery no draw, idle, and above idle. no draw should be 12.6 volts, idle should be 13.6 or higher. if you have lower than the 13.6 at idle rev it up and see if you get a higher voltage. if you have a battery load tester test the battery at no load at half of the batterys cold cranking amps for 10 seconds, shouldnt drop below 10volts and should return to 12.6 volts
pull the code if you can

The voltmeter i can probably borow. But i dont know how to pull the code tough.
If i cant figure it out by 16th of april ill have to go to the shop with it. Hopefully i will have my licence by then

Asked a Mechanic today. Told me it was a 90% chance that the problem with my car is a sensor i broken. Maybe the Lambda Sonde. I have ordered a diagnostics and a shop hour to fix it next week.
