Help with Fitment

Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking of getting Rota D2's for me BD this summer. Are 17X7.5 ok? or would I have to look for something else?

what color? gunmetal or gold? i think gold wouldnt look to bad on a green BD. tiers are tricky. 17x1.5? that is a skinny ass wheel.

If they are the 17x7.5's ET48 you'll be ok on stock suspension. If you're lowered you may rub on the fenders.

On my BBS's they are 17x7.5 with a ET53 and are a couple of milimeters away from my strut.

I am thinking of lowering my car, but about 1" to 1.5" max

So the max I can go is 17X7?

If I do get the Rota D2's 17X7.5 ET48 what size tires should I get?

all depends on if you like the streched look ar meat look. with 7.5 you can go up to 245/45/17 or as low are 215/45/17, just all on the way you want them to look. im new to the tire wheel combo. always had my tire guy, but he is in japan.

I don't really understand tire sizings far as the 245 or 215, but I was told to get 50/17 for a smoother ride.

Please help here. The guy that I go to for tires is a grumpy old man won't explained anything to me, but he has good prices.

What do the 245/ or 215/ mean?

Is the /45 or /50 mean the size of the tire wall?

Of course the 17 means the size of the wheels.

If anyone could post some pictures of 17's on 215 and 17's on 245 it would probably help me choose between stretched or meaty look. I don't think I want a stretched look though, but who knows. I don't

well what type of tire are you going to get? i personaly like dunlop direzza dz101. they are good grip wet or dry. sound lvl very minimal as they are digi type. witch means they have foam on the inside to dampin the noise.
215/ 45/ 17

xxx/zz/yyd the x's are the width of the tread in mm, the z's are the aspect ratio(tire width x aspect ratio = side wall height). the y's is the rim size the tire will fit on, and the d is for the type of tire(radial, byis, commercial, truck)
the local tire place recommends a 215/45/17 for my bd. tire rack recommends a 205/50/17. my specs 17x7.5 48mm w/ 205/50/17 rubbed just a bit in the rears. without a fender roll

I don't know what brand. I looked at the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 and they are more then I want to pay for tires, but I was looking around and it looks like that's what I'm going to have to pay for tires on wheels

I like the Falken ZIEX 512s... they are very good at preventing hydroplane, and they grip decently for a DD too. They are cheap, and good, and they look fast too. ;)

hankook suck. dont grip for crap. and sound awful in turns. i was getting a set of 4 dunkop direzza dz101's for about 425. that not too bad for good ass tires. and got with 225/45/17. would look good.

Kumho Ecsta SPT's are $90/each on tire rack.



Though if you were willing to spend a bit more, I have the Ecsta MX's and I love them to death. They're 117/tire for your application but well worth it for high preformance driving imo.

I can vouch for Fusion ZRi tires, they are great performance tires for cheap.

Airgne are you suggesting I go with the 225/45/17 instead of the 215/45/17 ? How different are they?


I think I'm going with the Fusion ZRi or the Falken ZIEX 512

I have to look for a nicely priced D2's now and then I'll save some more money for tires

yes i am. i recommend that you go to a tire shop after you get your sus set the way you want it. thisis when you can see what tire will be the best. 225 or 215. should not rub, but if it does just roll the fenders. after i get coilovers im going to try 235/45/17 on my BE.
