Not sure if this is a good idea, but I want to have my own custom setup for my exhaust, so I'm looking into getting a universal 2.5 inch inlet and outlet high flow cat, but I'm not sure what to go with, I'm obviously going to need both up and down stream O2 sensors installed, so how can I go about this?
I'm guessing that most exhaust shops can handle this. I'm not to worried about being CA legal since my car is registered in WA state. What else do I need to be worried about, will I need to worry about extention for the 02 sensor so it reads properly and doesn't give me a CEL?

Also what would be a good brand for the 2.5 inch universal hi flow cat to go with?

Get an OBX 2.25" cat. A 2.5" exhaust is overkill and a waste on a stock 2.5 motor. If you have cams or a supercharger, then go with 2.5" exhaust.

Well for starters is your car N/A? 2.5" is ok but you would be better served if you went with 2.25".
http://www.boxer4racing.com has some great setups if you want to go that way. You may want to get the O2 bung for the the downstream cat to avoid CEL's. Random Technology makes Hi-Flow Cats. http://www.randomtechnology.com/

I've already planned on using a 2.5 inch exhaust on my car anyways, and currently I'm building it up, and all those things are going to happen, but not at the moment, cams will come a little later after I get a set of heads built up like I want, here's a link to my thread for my car:'

By the way none of those replies answered my questions, my car is in no way staying stock and the engine is going to be built eventually. Anyways I'm still looking for a universal 2.5 inch.

What brand should I go with?
