View Full Version : Interior color scheme opinion

The seats I'm looking at are only available in three colors.

Black, with gray center, red, or blue.

Now the blue, is very close to the World Rally Blue.

The red would be a little flashy, but with some color matching, it might look nice. I don't know.

The black is nice, but the interior is so dark already, I'm kind of yearning for something different.

I don't know. I'm caught in this quandry of wanting something a bit more flashy, but at the same time, maybe I should stay with something more subdued. The Blue and WRB matching scheme might be nice, but I almost think the WRB Subies have been played out.

Opinions?

Rock the red, live your name "Kraziken".
Black is OEM, you're not OEM.

I'm thinking black. There would have to be something to go with the red to justify it IMO.

Maybe if the door card inserts were wrapped red to match? That would work I think. MAybe with some other subtle red bit to even it out (red stitching here or there, etc...)

Whatever color seat I choose, there would be color matching involved. Door cards, rear seats re-upholstered, perhaps some dash accents.

So I don't know if that would change anyone's opinion so far that has picked black.

Ninja edit: Looks like a couple blue votes, but still losing, perhaps everyone so far has felt the same about Blue is overdone in Subies. :grin:

I have blue in mine. (see my member's ride thread) It's ok. But your car screams performance to me. And nothing catches a persons eye faster than bright red when the door is opened.

You're basically the only one who's going to see it behind the tints.

Black = better resale value
Blue = overdone in subbies
Red = more impact

do red because it's ubber-jdm. lol Honestly, I always wanted an interior with red seats. done well, it looks awesome. Door cards and rear seats to match would be bad ass and really round out your car imo.

I don't know if Bride does custom, but what I might ask for IF I do red is.

Red outsides, but have the center Black with the Bride Logo, cascading to gray to charcoal, just like the Large Black seat in the image.

I think red could work if you had the matching red fabric on the door cards w/ the original Bride script.
Also, I think I'd want to reupholster the rear seat with the matching Bride script in the center portion of the seat.

Black is just so much easier to color match.

There's a few people that have done this with sparco seats and such. Pauley is one of the first that comes to mind (the one with the tarmac project, dragon video, all that...won Top Scoob there once). It really helps tie it all together. I dont' mind the contrast of a set of red seats against an all black interior, but you have to admit, when it all matches, that's pimp.

ifr you get black outside and bride on inside, you can buy bride fabric to maatch everything.

Leather = Added Weight :lol:

Red FTW! noone gonna notice it in the interior, look at the JDm integra type r's..... ok bad comparison :p but White cars with red buckets looks good.

Thanks for the input. I think white and red kind of go nice. I haven't decided if I can live with a hooker red interior yet. But we'll see. :grin:

These Brides are expensive. I think I'm committed to them, but I'm not sure when I'll get them. I admit, between the seats or new turbo's and injectors, I just leaning a hair towards the new Turbo. I like to make my decisions way ahead of actual purchasing time. :smile:

I'd go for blue or black, but leaning toward black. I think the red is too over the top for your car's appearance. Obviously its modded, but to the average person, they would likely not be able to tell. Your car is very clean and tastefully modded. I don't think the red seats screaming from the inside would stick to that theme, but maybe that's what you are going for? :-? :?:

That is the internal conflict I'm having really. Stay low key, or get something a bit flashier. Mostly I'm tired of the gray enterior. I have a bit of time to decide though, as I just blew a bunch of money on toys. So the seats will be out of the question for a bit. :grin:

I voted blue. I'm partial of course. Blue interior, white car, gold wheels. I think it's a good combo.
