Widest Tire on Stock Rim

I have a 1995 LSi and i was wondering that are the widest tires i can fit on the stock rims. I know they suggest a 195-60-15... i was wondering if you could possibly go on to a 205-50-15 or something along those lines, anybody know?.. Thanks

i have a 95 leggy L and i bought a set of stock wrx wheels and i have a set of 225/50R16's on it

you can usally get away with +10 on width with out rubbing issues a tire thats 205/55/15 will have a .3inch bigger diameter than the stock 195/60/15
so a 205/55/15 is you best bet

oh no, the question is can you fit a 205/55/15 tire on the stock legacy rim which usually comes factory with a 195/60/15 tire

Um, they fit on the rim exactly the same...

They also have approximatley the same OD, so your speedo will still be accurate.

The widest? You can even cram 225/55/15s on the 15x6 rim.

interesting... that's good to know, reason that i am asking is b/c it's about that time for new tires, and since i'm poor, i'm going for new USED tires... and trying to find some 195/60/15's specifically is a pain in the rear... trying to keep my options open, i don't think i'll be going as far as a 225 on a 6 inch wide rim though. thanks
