I've done some searching, and other than an entire replacement shifter(SPT), short shifter (Kartboy, eBay), or a Prothane (or other) replacement control bushing, what options are there?

Does anyone make a complete SET of bushings to replace the whole shifter and shaft bushings?

Am I better off just getting new stock bushings?

Or should I just suck it up and get a short shifter???

Just sick of the slop and don't want to spend alot to tighten it up (i.e. Kartboy or SPT) and make it better.

Back in my Neon drivin' days, there was a local guy that made a complete set of polyurethane (Booger) bushings that snapped into the ends of an otherwise irreplacable shifter cable (O.E. only) and now alot of vendors carry HIS bushings and sell them all over the US.
Haven't seen anything like that in the Subaru community, but it would be cool if someone could, or did.

I'm pretty sure there are Energy polyurethane bushings that are made to fit... Shouldn't be that expensive.

depends on what bushings are causing most of the slop - there is a great thread on here about fixing the whole mess of them - I posted in it so search for it with my s/n

I tried to isolate the source of the slop when I removed my original trans, unfortunately it turned out to be inside the trans itself. If this is the case then new bushings won't help.

If you want to try replacing them you'll need the kartboy front and rear stay bushings (http://www.turninconcepts.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_9_10_22&products_id=34), TiC pivot bushings (http://www.turninconcepts.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_9_10_22&products_id=90) and TiC linkage update (http://www.turninconcepts.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_9_10_22&products_id=357).

I'd suggest getting the kartboy short shift lever at the same time, you can save $10 if you get it as a kit with the front & rear bushings (http://www.turninconcepts.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_9_10_22&products_id=37)

I will look for it as well to see if I can locate it, all the TIC stuff is good (I have it on the WRX) but their linkage upgrade is like $80 and the info I posted shows how to get very similar results in $15
