Were the final drive ratios the same on all Legacy Turbos?? Like from auto's to 5mt's? So if I find a 5mt i won't have to change the rear end also. And were Legacy turbo's equipped with an LSD rear end?? What tranny should I use that would be capable of holding 300+ hp?? How much boost can I run on a stock Legacy Turbo Block? I want to take everything off of my motor and put it on this Legacy Turbo, manifold, downpipe, WRX turbo and intercooler, fuel management. Should I find a bigger turbo. I will prob run methanol injection on it also. Need some input. I want to make this car a monster. Thanks

methanol management could be tricky, I know it is recommended not to run any additives besides MTBE and ethanol, but I suppose if you know what you're doing, it may work, you just have to know a lot about the stuff...

all legacy turboes are 3.9.
91's had a standard lsd, later ones are very rare.
the best trans is the 6mt of course, but the turbo 5spd's are better than the na boxes. How its used is pretty important.
~27psi at sea level, assumed everything is properly tuned.
iirc the downpipe wont match up with your legacy exhaust, its too long or something.
run as big as a turbo as you see fit.

just look, go to behind your car and lay down and look at the back of your rear diff, it will say "viscious lsd" if it does.
plus the only turbo legacy to have a standard lsd was the 1991
where can i find a 6spd? for my 1991 legacy ej22t block

junkyard off an STi or new off of boxer4racing. Both are expensive

Ante, this is how you know...the diff on the left is 3.9 LSD (thought I had a better pic of my cover...but I don't.)

Ante, if you go junkyarding for a LSD rear end make sure to get the axles that were attached to it...or worst case scenario, find a match set of axles for the specific year, model and trim of the car that you got the rear diff out of...the axles are specific (left and right) to the rear diff. I don't know what is different...but they are.
Silver...you want a 6spd? try:

Thats where I got my JDM 6MT. Stephen Clark...great guy and will answer any question you got. Stump him? He'll get you an answer. Some of the best customer service in the biz.

1_bad_legacy: scott is correct....well, at least to the answers I'm paying attention to.. (i'm sure he's on target with the rest too)
Almost any subaru tranny can handle 300 horsepower...just depends on how you drive. Your enthusiasm is telling me you need a 6MT. Should you be a person who is judicious with your right foot and knows how to be smooth with the left (clutch), then a built RA box from IAP (see link above) will suit you just fine.
...but from the sounds of it.....you looking to lay waste all over the place...and with a 2.2L, you'll have a bit more torque than the standard fare 2.0L (for obvious reasons) = 6MT
you will need a custom midpipe to be made to fit the Impreza immediate exhaust to your Legacy axle back exhaust.

Okej, i will be in the garage tomorrow installing the Wahlbro pump and i will have a look under the car.
I know that only the MY91 got the LSD from factory but since the history of my car before it came to Sweden is unknown anything can be possible, mine is imported from Germany, no papers what so ever :\
I`m planning to put some effort in clearing up the history.
When i took down the ECU last friday i found a black box in there (FCD as i expected, going out and VOS going in), the ECU cover was also enclosed with some "seals" where the text "Michael Kurz Subaru Tuning", it can be both fun and suprising not knowing what you got :)
So i take nothing for granted.
