Engine weight and size difference between H4 and H6

What's the weight difference between an H4 and H6 and size difference? I'm thinking once my Phase 1 2.5 is DOA I might replace it with an 01- 04 H6. I know I'll need the ECU and engine harness from the H6 but any other goodies? Also, are the flywheels the same for a 98 2.5 and the H6s? I just think it'd be better to drop an H6 with MORE POWER ( :grin: :grin: :grin: ) in instead of getting a CCR 2.5 with cams and all the other goodies yet less power. Any ideas or recommendations or articles on H6 swaps into Legacies would be appreciated.
PS. I used to be an "SLi Lurker" now I'm an "SLi nOOb". Is this better or worse?

go to NASIOC, subar conversions forum. You should see a thread about H6 conversions in Imprezas (GC, same years as your BD).

I'll be honest, there's a lot more work involved in getting the H6 into any subaru that what it's worth. You may be better off just doing a turbo engine swap from a USDM WRX...

Yeah, the more specialized tech forums are actually better and are filled with more helpful people than the usual trolls.

I don't venture away from 2-3 forums over there that much...

Do you plan to do this yourself or shop to do it? Like I said before, either route you'll find a lot more people that have done the turbo swap and a lot more resources regarding the turbo swap, so it's really just that much easier...

from what i found the eg33 swap (not the ez30) isnt all that complicated really. harness merge, custom rad and or support, and new tach. thats really all there is to it. and considering i have a friend more than capable of the harness merge (Numbchux) its really not THAT much work. im really hoping to find a good deal on a SVX and make this swap happen in the wagacy.

as far as size the ez30 i think its only an inch or 2 longer then an ej motor, while the eg33 is 3-4 inches longer

Impreza 2.2L clutch & tranny bolted up to an EG33. I would say your BE would be similar.
