My car build is becoming fairly simple and I was wondering what the cheapest set of lowering springs you guys have seen?

I bought my whiteline control springs for 275 shipped.

I dunno what you consider cheap, but what ive read over the months is that springs usually run anywhere from 250-400 depending on brand...

Tanabe GF210: $165 on OptionsAuto.com
If you only want a moderate drop check out the NF210 spring.
That is the least amount of money you can spend and still get a high quality product. If you even get a shitty ebay spring you deserve all the troubles you will have down the line including blown struts and increased tire wear so start saving for new struts right away if you decide to go the "cheap and shitty" route.

do the nf210 springs fit without a problem these are marked to be for an impreza?

Given that the advice came from an Impreza owner, my guess is that he offered them as an option because that's what he's used, or heard of.

Honestly, I try to stay away from the Impreza stuff as much as possible because of wildly varying reactions from Legacy owners who've tried. Some love it, some hate it.

I've never heard of a Legacy owner hating Legacy-specific suspension though.

IMO the H&R springs are the best bang for the buck.

That is the truth.
But yes, Impreza springs would fit on a Legacy. I don't see what the big issue would be. You guys would know better than I but I read about people swapping springs from other Subaru models (read: WRX's) all day long.
