I was examining my plate and it says BD7 on the chassis info. But my car is a L?

BC- 89-94 Sedan
BF/BJ- 89-94 Wagon
BD- 95-99 Sedan
BG/BK- 95-99 Wagon
BE- 00-04 Sedan
BH- 00-04 Wagon
BP- 05+ Sedan
BL- 05+ Wagon

That's not what he's getting at. Considering it's an L and it has an EJ22, I would expect it to read BD4 or something like that, not a 7.

I've already tried my best guesses over on Nasioc...

Maybe the chassis was given a VIN for a GT, but SOA shifted production numbers and wanted more L's? So they threw the L components in.

The GT was a 6, not a 7.

were not decoding a vin.. the "bd7xxx" is the applied model number.. an example is bd9y5f (off my 98 gt sedan) b=legacy d= sedan 9= specific 2.5 motor y= 4 door 5= gt f= m/t trans
