i have a video but my internets too slow to get the code.
i will be driving and when i let off the gas the rpm slowely goes down...especially around 3rpm it just doesnt move right
i can even jump on the pedal and my car will downshift to speed up quick and if i make it go to 5 rpm and let off the gas it will go down a little slow and then at 3 it goes extremely slow
idk if this is what its supposed to do but it bugs me.
i want manual transmission back...and my 2.5 engine

I'm pretty sure that sounds like normal operation for a 4EAT to me...I don't own one, but I think that's how they're supposed to work. They're supposed to shift for more casual drivers. But maybe I don't understand the problem too well.

The other issue is that the dealer put in a 2.2l engine on his GT.
You could try checking the fluid level of the transmission, and do a battery disconnect to reset the ECU and the TCU. Then drive it normally and it should relearn your driving style (within limits).

He gave the dealer permission, because it wasn't running right when he bought it. Sometimes bargain deals, aren't.

i didnt give him permission i went to pick up my car and hes like "i ripped your engine out and put a new one it" im sittin there thinking wow i got a different engine oh cool then he continues "i threw in a 2.2 for you cause theyr cheaper"
now im on a hunt to try to find a cheap 2.5 to put back into my car and make it a real GT

again i would sew his ass until they give me money or put in the same size engine they took out. tell the BBB and might be able to get something from there.

hes really good friends with my uncle and my grandfather so i really dont want to do anything plus im tired of driveing up there all the time i know 2.5s are more expensive and harder to find then 2.2 but he could have just went into his junkyard behind the dealership, pulled out headers, sent them to get cleaned, and put them back in my car

It is rather sketchy. GTDrifter, how much did you pay for the car?
My friend's Outback blew the HG's a month after he got it, it was still under dealer warranty. Make sure you read all the stuff they gave you with the car, if the engine went while still under their warranty, they're legally obligated to replace the engine with the stock unit.

i paid $3,200...$3,500 with all the transfers and all...i dont think i got anything with the car. it was under warranty at the time.
he is not a big dealership...actually its rather small...he has a good amount of cars but its only the owner, his wife, and his grandson...the owner and the grandson work on the cars and the wife gets the prices and sells.
again i dont want to push the issue cause my cars no longer on warranty and the owners good friends with my grandfather and my uncle
im just guna search for another 2.5

um something you might want to have someone take a look at is your kick-down lever, its on the exterior of your trans, i dont know what it looks like on the legacy, however every ATX has one, it might be sticking, at the very least i would have someone(not the dealer) do a tranny flush and filter change!
i have a BE with ATX and it was doing the same thing, i took it in for a tranny service, flush, filter change and now it shifts awesome, but i really need to get a STI dogbone, or a group n dogbone mount cause the engine rocks really violently when it shifts, more than i think it should but it could be just me!
