Bummer. We had an entire town change all town and county roads within thier borders to 30 mph by me.

Whatever road I'm on, weather is rural or local highway, I'm always in the 55-70 mph range. Haven't gotten pulled over in 3+ years :-) (Knock on wood!!!!!)

got pulled over again today. 3rd time in 6 months. i was on the only 1/2 mile of the road that is 30mph(normaly 50). there are to many F****** cops in this state than a flea infested dog. also found out at the same time that in washington state it is illegal for ANYONE to modify there exhaust, but the cop was cool and didnt ticket me for that. i cant wait to get back to japan were you dont have 4 cops for every person. sorry on a rant.

Maybe, but theres more wind resistance at 60-75 than 25-55.

yeah every state has that kind of law.
is really fun when the cop charges you with chapter 801 section 20. which has nothing to do with automobiles. and are law is for obtodsey.

(3) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the engine of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle not equipped as required by this subsection, or which has been amplified as prohibited by this subsection. A court may dismiss an infraction notice for a violation of this subsection if there is reasonable grounds to believe that the vehicle was not operated in violation of this subsection.

Almost all states have muffler laws. Just be thankful they don't enforce it as much as they could. If they started heavily enforcing it, I would hope car guys would band together against motorcyclists and get the same restrictions placed on them. Most cars with exhausts are nothing compared to modified harley's.

As for 30mph only roads.... what's the point of 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear in that town? The roads on campus here are 20mph. The surrounding roads are all 30, and then all main roads are 40mph with the highway having a speedlimit of 55, 65 or 75 depending if you are in a city, just outside the city, or in the middle of nowhere accordingly.

Maybe, but theres more wind resistance at 60-75 than 25-55.

The consensus seems to be 65 on cruise is where u get the best mileage.

Yep... at 20 mph it still takes a bit of effort to keep moving at that speed where 60 you don't have to be on the throttle all the time.
