Some exhaust help please!

well after being pissed for about a month listening to this weird noise coming from my car i decided to take another board members advice and look for exhuast leaks, nothing from the header, cats, mid pipe and bamo!, i found the problem i think. where the mid pipe connects to the axle back it is solid bacl all the way around, meaning to me that the gasket in there is shot. now here is my problem, i cant even tell that the "bolts" that are suppused to be there are bolts anymore!, what do i do!?!, also there is a small spot of rust right near the muffler on the pipe itself that has some black around it, so, i its a perfect time to replace and convince the wife its ok to, however, how shoudl i go about getting the old section off!

on a side note , the under of my car is incredibly clean! no rust or anything!(besides the exhuast pipe)

Cut the old pipe off - have new pipe made up, use stainless hardware. Done.

ohh my other question was, do i need that connector, with gasket, or can i just make that one soild piece?

I would make it a flanged end so that you can swap out axle-backs if needed.
