Mabye A dumb question? 2 stripes on cars...

what the hell are those 2 stripes i see on alot of peoples cars, they usally start at the hood and go to the wheel well, either side, and i have seen them on tons of different makes and models!

mabye i missed something

The 30th Ann Corvette had them... or i think or someone was trying to tape their fenders up to keep it from falling off and they made a fad out of it lol

FWIW, the shop we were running back in -02/03 used them as the markings for owners/loyal customers; "getting your stripes" was you being a part of the original crew. What's funny is we started seeing other Subarus with some of the same colors. Not sure if it was parallel evolution (we took some inspiration from the GS cars too) or what, but I dug the look. There's a black stripe on mine that doesn't show up in pictures very well.
