i was looking into getting a brat just to use as a commuter so i could save alittle money. holy crap i found 1 out of searching for about 2hrs on the internet. it was going for 6,500. how in the hell is a brat going for that price? was on 85 with 175,000 miles on it. can you guy beleive it?

I can believe it.. I've seen stupid prices on Subaru's with high miles on them.. I have no clue why they are like that.

The Brat, and the now-dead baja just took too long to appreciate. Like the nissan 240sx and the Corolla GTS here in the states. People are like "oh hey, this would be great for xyz(drift, commute, light truck, etc)" and the resale values skyrocket for non-rustbuckets.

Technically, no. They were shipped to the US. They're expensive in good shape because most of them rotted or were beaten halfway to Clavius.

it'd be cool to get one of the jump seat sets from the bed of one to throw in the back of my Baja, if ony for decoration. Since NY law forbids transport of people in the bed of a truck.

Try finding a datsun 510. Those thing go for like $10000. They only cost $2500 new.

There was a Brat about 5miles from me in reasonable condition. It needed a lot of cleaning, and cost $500.

I saw one on the highway here about 3-4 years ago.. first thing I said was WOW LOOK! it's a Brat! haha I can see how the older model is more usable then the new model.

Then you'd just have to argue that you're not driving a truck. It's a car. Otherwise you'd have truck license plates :lol:

Actually, in NY you can get non-truck plates for trucks up to a certain size and weight. But I know it's really not a truck :lol: . So it's really like mounting the seats in the trunk, which I'm sure is not legal in this prude-state.
