thanks gys. no problem about the wheel. the exhaust is easy as hell to make. start at about 8in after your first cat and sut it all off. get some 3in pipe bend as requierd and get a Apexi N1 muffler. boom there you go nice sounding exhaust tha will help your car out alot. once i get my new rims i will put more pics up. thanks once again guys.

going get an extention made for the Cobb CAI. going to go from the pipe that enters the fender to down next to the right side fog light. i will have to take out that plastic peice that goes next to the fog(it covers a tow hook). this should push more air into the intake. will post pics after get some money and time to do this.

Couldn't you rig the pipe to route to the factory scoop? I think that's as good an option as the foglight without the increased dirt and misc. road debri you're liable to suck up from down there...

i was going to be installing 2 mess type of screens. 1 at the opening and 2nd before the filter. only to stop normal stuff. also with all the bends in the pipe i dont think it would get far. this is just a thought for now. if i do it, it would only be about 30 bucks. if it does nothing than its a test that failed.

LOL angry biker. Bikers are such douches sometimes, around where I live they like to ride in pairs side by side, taking up the entire road. Then they get all pissed off when I have to gun it around them because I'm afraid some car is going to be coming around the next corner with me 100% in their lane of traffic.

in the works right now. i got my JDM HID's finally via 96wagonzilla(thanks man). i orderd headlight restore to clean them up to like new. got smoked headlight armor on its way. i was working on the lights and found out that my eye lids are made by zero sports. last week i started the interior by black plastic dipping all the fake wood. plastic dip is the best thing to use on your interior. because if you dont like it, it peels right off. as soon as i get everything done i will post pics. also i just won an outback front bumper for the car.
Airgne
08-13-2008, 12:48 AM
got headlight on with headlight armor 50% smoke(recommened), got outback front installed. JDM rear with spats in. PIAA 520 crystal ions will be in soon. will take pics for update when get camera again.

it looks awsome, but i think its going to start bugging me about the exhaust and the side. i just got my jdm rear tails and b4 emblem all for 156bucks.
legacyB4RSK
09-19-2008, 06:49 AM
Told my dealer about it and they had mentioned perhaps even reworking the rear fenders. I'll let you know how it turns out. BTW, how bad is the exhaust, is it hanging too low? Good price on those parts. I just went ahead and got the entire JDM trunk lid including the wing. If everything works out as planned , my car will look exactly lika a B4 rsk, except with a sunroof.
impreza_GC8
09-19-2008, 09:00 AM
Hey there, nice car. Don't see to many in that body style modified.
Where'd you get your N1 muffer? The N1 on my RS AutoX car took a crap on me (finally) and I'd like to get a new muffler to weld onto the piping.
Airgne
09-20-2008, 09:06 AM
legacy,
as for the trunk and spoiler its no diffrent at all. as for teh exhaust it needs to be moved up about 2 in. i wouldnt rework the rear fenders. i would do it to the bumper because its would be alot easier(=less money).
impreza,
i got my n1 off ebay.
legacyB4RSK
09-20-2008, 09:52 AM
I know 'bout the trunk lid, I just wanted the actual JDM trunk for the spoiler and badges (excessive , maybe, but I am slowly coverting to JDM parts) little project of mine. As for the bumper , you're right, my thought was to modify the bumper as well. Judging from your first pics, your custom exhaust appears to hang lower that stock, so I guess with the jdm bumper it would look very low. Send pics when you can.

it been awsome. i almost forgot how much i love japan. last saturday night i went to the mountians with my freind. there were about 30 cars there. we drifted for about 3hrs. i got vid of me hanging out my freind Brians sunroof while drifting. Got vid of my freind Josh with the car i sold him. he has done things i only wished i couls have done to that Laurel. i will be doing a Members Rides on the Nissan , just have to compile the list of mods.

Absolutely Awesome, love the bumper, and it looks exactly like I anticipated, not that bad. I'm getting mine installed in a day or 2. I have those same door sills and that STI key as well. Thanks for the pics. I'll have to post pics of mine next, maybe the Winstone Pearl color won't show the bumper/fender misalignment as much.
Good Work

Talked to my friend with the 89 Laurel the other day. He is thinking about selling it. And taking over his fathers Saab 9000 CSE Turbo.
That car has had 17 previous owners (the laurel i mean) so it has almost been sold every year since 1989:P

Looks really good Brando. You should get the exhaust re-hung so it doesn't slope down as much and has more of a tilt upwards. The wheels & stance are really going to set it off. Nice work buddy

I love the paint BTW, the front and rear matches real well. Not feeling the 18s though - the car looks higher to me.
Airgne
10-13-2008, 03:17 PM
they dont pull. no i didint move. i took them while on base. the car is about an inch higher than with the stock wheels. im just going to use these as a winter wheels(they were free). i shoule be droping it soon. just need new tophats.
Huffer
10-13-2008, 03:25 PM
You should sell them and buy some cheap wheels for your winter rollers. Don't waste the 18s on a winter. At least make some profit!
rougeben83
10-13-2008, 03:31 PM
Def sell those if youre just going to use them for winters. I bet you can get at least $700-800 out of the deal.
But work something out with your friend since it may piss him off that he gave you something for free and you turn around and sell it to a stranger

I dont know about everyone else but are your guys' BE's as gutless as mine? I cant pull away from automatic honda civic's, a saturn sc1 will smoke me off the line and stay ahead of me. Are they all like this or is something on the go with mine.
Just say i get on gas in first second and thrid when i get to around 4500-5500 in third i'll let off and look at my speedo and i wont be doing 100km/h maybe 90.
Mine isn't
Ok ok, that was a cheap shot.
It's kind of like that, you can try some headers and a couple of other bolt-ons, it should liven up the car a bit, but you're still not going to be beating anything with a respectable amount of power in a straight line, at least.
What youre describing in the last part isn't a consequence of power, more so of gearing, and that's pretty normal too because any taller gearing and it would give slower acceleration.

I was thinking about an intake and exhaust but i dont want to have a loud muffler, i like it the way it is, i would have it more quiet if i could, but my car burns a retarted amount of gas as it is, and that would only make it burn more. But my check engine light is on and im thinking that has to do with it burning so much gas, im saving money now to put it into a shop and see whats on the go with it..

with all the stuff on mine i get about 29mpg on the freeway and 23mpg in town. for an AWD n/a car i think i do pretty good. i like to do turns. straight lines are boring and dont teach you have to drive good.

It probably wouldn't be that hard to do yourself. Just heat up the bumper with a heat gun and form it to the shape you. Let it cool in that shape and you have your JDM bumper on a US car that looks good.

It's easy on paper but you need to be careful molding painted pieces as you may very well damage the paint while heating up that area.

The bumper was completely repainted. It had to be with the work involved, they used a plastic repair kit that is similar to the bumper material then had to form that area then sand it. I saw them do some of it , it was impressive work.

This method is better left to a shop or someone very familiar with autobody. Usually when you do plastic weld something back together, it has to get some bodywork and paint.

well the car runs fine. drives on the other had horribly. the clutch release bearing wore a groove in my pressure plate teeth and the front seal in my tranny leaks about 2 quarts a week. i bought a new(new to me but used) tranny, rear diff and 4 axels out of an 05 outback. orderd a clutch kit from spec. didnt cost a grand this time for the clutch kit since i had the flywheel alreay. i got a new pressure plate(not aluminum this time), clutch disc, and friction plate(its for the flywheel). right now im in japan again, so when i get back i will be doing the work. all i need to get now is some new gator pins for the axels. oh also i orderd some sun pro poly bushings for the rear diff area.
i do have alittle project goin on right now. im going to be buying a ver4 sti short block(if he still has it when i get back). getting PhaseII heads, intake, ecu, and harness. all that and a raptor supercharger will be going into my car here hopefully in the next year. until then im probly going to buy that supercharger kit off this guy on RS25.com. i looked at the mods he did to the hood. i can make a better looking way of doing it.
oh yeah i just got my JDM grill done and painted java black to match my eyelids. will but picks of it up when i get time. i will not be back from japan for acouple weeks.

so i found out why my front seal went bad. below you will see my pilot bearing that fell out(when they did the head gaskets, got the mechanic fired  ) you can tell the damge that the bearing did on the inside of the friction disc. also you can see the seal in 3 peices(suppose to be one peice). also we took apart both 01 and 05 transmissions(easy as hell to do). at the bottom you will se my new clutch installed. went from 4 puck to 6 puck clutch. also went to a better pressure plate. i took the seal and back half of the 05 case and will be using it on in my 01 case. the 05 tranny is the one were teh cv halfshafts go into the front diff. the 01 has the splines stick outside the case.

yeah, that's why many people think part of the 5 speed's inherent weakness is the case flexing under sudden torque/load.

so the other day i sold my 92 ss. i decided to finsh getting the brakes(was goin to put them on the 92). soon to go on the car will be FHI 4 pot(fronts), FHI 2 pot(rear) calipers, EBC Red stuff brake pads, EBC sloted and blind drilled rotors(11.6in front, 11.4in rear), 06 WRX rear backing plates(no adapter needed), and a new left rear hub(damn bearing has been bad since i bought the car).
started to paint all the calipers and backing plates this weekend(dont use your oven to bake it on, wife will get pissed  ). they are looking good. also if anyone will buy my suspension i have for sale i will be getting coilovers. then we will see how she goes. if no one buys my suspension i will probly not get the coilover(if i have the money i will), but ill then get rallitek sway bars.
also i should be getting my 18 enkie evo5's back. been at the powder coater for way to long, those will probly be for sale.

so after a week of my being a dumbass i got the brakes done on the car. i had the rear calipers on the wrong side. oh well shit happens and we learn. the 4/2pot upgrade is the best upgrade i have done so far. the car stops on a dime. it stops so evenly, no more nose dive. since i was given the wrong brake shoes or the parking brake the 5 different times i orderd them, i have no parking brake right now. i think this time they have the right ones, so i shoud have a parking brake again soon. i will go take some pics of what the brakes look like on the car.

as for the flaps i messured it out. 2 1/2 in in and 1 in down from the top corner. drilled a hole in all 4 than went and used the self-tapping screws 1/4in about the hole in the fender and bumper.

Well if I remember correctly it's a cone style filter in there. And IF it is on backwards the flow of air is screwed up. It's not designed to flow backwards, so there could be a crazy amount of turbulence in there.

finished the exhaust the other day. got rid of the last cat. no its borla header, 2.5in pipe, to 3in pipe with apexi n1. the car is way to lous not with no cats. ppl have told me that is sound like a rally car. another person told me it sound like a drift car. the exhaust is a for a track car not my family car. going to the sti genome and a resonator when cash flow gets here, probly around engine swap time.
