Camber Bolt

I just lowered my car and I have new KYB GR-2's coming in

What is the advantage of me getting camber bolts. I noticed that my rear has a little camber the top of the wheel is tilting in and the bottom out. If I get a alignment will it fix that or do I have to get new camber bolts like the ones that Eibach make. I don't care for being able to adjust the rear camber.

If you want avoid excessive negative camber (and having to rotate/flip your tires every oil change) you will want to install some kind of camber bolt to help the alignment to bring the wheel back to a closer static camber.

an alignment shop becuase you need an alinment after you install them

I would have the mechanic install them because if you pay for an alignment they just need to adjust the bolt.

Personally, I'd do the install myself...and then just pay for an alignment.

I bought the eibach camber bolts yesterday and they are on their way

where do they go and how do you install them?

I probably better off letting my mechanic do it since he's going to install my new KYB GR-2's anyways

most awd cars are suppose to have about a -.5 camber on them.

does anyone know why the eibach legacy camber bolts say 'For models built before 12/98 only.' ... ?

Probably because '99 models were built prior to 12/98.

The MY (model year) refers to a production year batch, not a calendar year.
2000 models were manufactured in late '99.

Check your VIN plate for the production date, it'll be before 12/98.

werd.. ok.. makes sense. Just wanted to make sure there wasnt anything that changed or something like that.

so would it really be necessary to get the camber bolts for front and rear or just the rear? from what i've heard it's usually just the rear that needs the correction. anybody got any pics of the bolts installed or a DIY of how to install them.

I think you just need them for the front as opposed to the rear.. and here is the ingalls guide for installing the camber bolt:

In anything it would just be for the rear. I needed both front and rear to get the adjustment I wanted. Usually the stock bolts in the rear allot for less adjustment than the fronts. I got my Eibach bolts from boxer4racing.

I have a lifetime alignment through Firestone and I am able to get custom settings done.
Right now I have it set to
0 total toe,
-1.5 front camber
-1 rear.
Its perfect!
