As for wheels Im getting a dedicated summer set in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for that. ;)

As for the projectors, the passenger side housing broke in my acccident, and since they were done in L headlamps and I have a GT, I couldnt put them into my original housings.

Maybe this summer Ill buy a new pair of housings and get them running again,.

Teggy projectors arent HID right? And theyre single Xenon.

You'd lose out on the high beam, and not be any better than you were in the first place. If youre going to do the work, use good parts.

Total of 30-40 hours went into my retrofit.

kind of looks like you drove threw baby shit. i think the titanium peral(gold) that subie has would look good for that.

maybe if it wasnt so yellow.....

05-16-2008, 01:22 AM
I drive a two tone- car, so this isn't hate, but I'm really not feeling the body line you picked. Additionally, it's going to be really, really difficult to match either of the Rota golds with vinyl, and you're going to end up with some haggard results, especially around the corners of the bumpers if you try to cover that much real estate.

I think you could pull the fender stripes off....maybe, but the fender stripe width needs to complement the wheels. If you have a big, chunky spoke, and you're tying it in, then your stripes should be a similar width; with the SVN's, I'd go for a border stripe (so it would just be like an outline of the stripe) with the width of those lines, so you'd have what essentially looked like a pair of the spoke sets.

Either that, or do a single beltline pinstripe like the old Syms stripes if you're trying to add some color; I've very rarely seen aftermarket two-tonmes come out looking all that hot.

Working on a PS now so I'm not being all negative, heh.

Ok, quick photoshops. You want the color, you like those wheels, this seems like it pulls the elements together in a more subtle way. Dunno if it's what you're looking for, but I was bored :D

I think you need to be careful, because gold (especially TOmmy gold) can really overpower in large quantities. The guys saying the titanium would go well are on point; do that with the Rota bronze and it'd look like it matched, but I know you already ran that wheel color.

Fender stripes:

http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/khan/legacypsstripes.jpg

Couple of pinstripe ideas, really rough, I'd draw them together in a parabola towards the front but my skillz are failing)

Sybir's first idea looks great, I like the idea of the hash-mark 'traces' in gold. Maybe cap off the bottoms to make a complete outline of each fender stripe, and not bring it all the way to the fender edge?

I do think the 2-tone would be a bit much for the car though.

Khanhfucious
05-19-2008, 05:27 PM
It seems like the above photoshops are more bronze than gold (although I have a more bronze version also.)

The new rendering below more accurately matches the wheels.
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2008/05/goldwheels-1.jpg

The wheels are in my posession..except the girlie says she dosent like the color. I told her if I can sell them before my tires come in Ill get silver, otherwise theyre staying.

sybir
05-19-2008, 08:45 PM
I actually used a spoke from those wheels, to keep it matched ;)

I think the layouts I did would work as well with that gold, though. Is it gold, or tommy gold?

I'm biased, but I like it straight black.

Khanhfucious
05-19-2008, 10:01 PM
Its Tommy Gold.

As of right now, Im not sure if Im doing vinyl at all.

Khanhfucious
05-20-2008, 06:34 PM
Ok..since the girlie said she didnt like the gold, I had put up a local FS. One of my friends bought it..

I need to hold hte money for a deposit on a rental Canon 40D for a graduation in a couple weeks, but once I return that and get my deposit back, Ill be ordering wheels. Hopefully my RT615s will be here by then.

What wheels?

Not sure on color yet, but..

Well my former roommate came and visited this weekend and was rocking Flat Black wheels on his Wagon. I fell in love.

The new wheels will be getting painted Flat Black before I ever mount them on the car.

Im starting to look for a new car. My sound system will be coming out (all of it). My HIDs for the Fogs will be coming out. Pretty much..anything I can take will be coming out. Wheels will be going on the new car.

Ill probably be getting a 06-07 WRX, possibly wagon.

I love my Legacy, but if what I saw today is a warning sign of whats about to happen, I need to get rid of it.

No. My car NEVER consumes oil. Ever. I was in a bind once and ran 10k without adding a drop and it stayed at the full line. The other day I checked it and it was 1/4 between the top and bottom lines. Did an oil change today and found oil all along the head/block merger. The oil filter was covered in oil. I thought it mightve been a leaky filter, but it was the same (to a lesser amount) on the other side of the block. I didnt get a change to check the tops. Also, along with the oil, I found some trickles of coolant.

Right now Im seriously considering being carless and hitching a ride here and there, or buying a bike. For Sale sign goes on tomorrow.

Selling a car because of an engine oil leak? That's a bit excessive.

Khanhfucious
05-30-2008, 10:22 PM
It was oil AND coolant. Around the Headgasket. I went to our family mechanic, and a friend who's a subie tech, and they both said the HG is on it's way out. With these cars having the HG issue, I didnt want to risk it.

Huffer
05-31-2008, 11:37 AM
It's $1500 to have the HG replaced. You could have fixed that.

Khanhfucious
05-31-2008, 01:19 PM
My car booked around $6500. $1500 nets me $5000. I got more than $5000 for the car.

LegacyRob

$1500 is cheaper than a new car.

rougeben83
05-31-2008, 05:19 PM
so what car are you planning on getting?

Khanhfucious
05-31-2008, 05:32 PM
I was wanting a new car anyway. I just never really had the Motiv to sell mine.

Since my parents have an extra car, theyre going to help me out and let me go until November without paying insurance. With that, Ill be able to save up a little more (car payment and insurance payment going into the car fund, as opposed to only the car payment going towards the car) so I wont have to finance as much.

Next car will probably be a 06-07 WRX Wagon. Black of course.

My G-Forces are due to arrive in August, and right now Im not sure what I want to do. Keep them and let them sit until April, sell them or cancel the order and lose my deposit.

Selling a car because of an engine oil leak? That's a bit excessive.

haha I got rid of my 98 Forester L because the rear oil seal was leaking.. everyday it lost about a half a qt of oil... traded that in for a 03 XS. the oil seal was what only a $3 part? but from what I heard a bitch to get to just to replace.. car was nearing 100K anyways...

Huffer
05-31-2008, 09:32 PM
Ninja please.

Seals aren't hard to replace, and are a heck of a lot cheaper than a new car, financed or not.

Whatever. RIP Khan's BE.
