Hey gang -
When I was looking for a rear sway it was mentioned on here that the Baja Turbo OEM unit was a cheap upgrade. So I sourced one, finally got around to installing it and - it doesn't fit...
The issue - the OEM Leggy sway curves back to go around a suspension component. The Baja Turbo unit does not - you can force it into place, but then the middle of the bar is resting right on a bolt.
Clarification - my BE Leggy is an '03 model year with an '02 assembly date. I heard they might have changed something in the rear between '02-'03, so maybe the Baja unit still works on later BE models.
Somewhat scientific comparison - The Baja unit does look a little thicker than the Leggy unit and it weighs more (measured using a pretty accurate baby scale). Of course I forgot to write down the weights and the OEM unit is back on the car. But yeah I feel confident it is a little bigger, and it would be a good inexpensive upgrade, if it fit...
Random rant - Subaru OEM endlinks are teh suxxor. My Miata ones are super easy to remove, clamp a vice grip on one side put a rachet on the other and go to town. Having to use an open crescent wrench with an allen wrench in the middle seems to be a little less than desirable and can lead to outbursts of swearing in my experience.
SO - anyone ever actually install a Baja sway on a BE Leggy? If so what year? Am I missing something?!?
