NEED HELP QUICK!!! Tire Size Problems!!

Well Actually its more of a question and i really hope huffer chimes in he seems to know an awful lot!, ok so this is a continuation from my alignment thread, my front tires are shot!, and i need new ones, the rear are practically new!

i found a super awesome deal on some kumoho's however they are
205 65 R15 but i have 205 60 R15's would it matter to put the 205 65 15's in the rear and the 60's in front, a buddy told me i will ruin my tansfer case?? is this true?

please chime in soon cuase i need to get the tires and alignment ASAP

if you have an auto yes it will. the computer controls your tq slipt, and with the size diff it will be messed up and not know what to do. this is from my cousin who works at hansonmotors(VW&Subaru dealership). he says alot of ppl that dont know about this do it and it costs alot. now if this is only a temp fix(talking about 2-3 days) i dont think it would hurt you to bad.

Please stick with the same diameter tires front and rear... going to anything else long term will ruin your diffs - the wheels will constantly be turning at different speeds.

It is imperative on these cars that you maintain a consistent rolling circumference - which again is why regular tire rotations are so important, along with a good alignment.

alright guys thank you so much, looks like im gonna have to pass on the kumaho's!!!, Another question, does tread matter, the tires the dealer put on are shit all seasons like bottom of the barrel, and i wanted something better, but i really dont want to replace 4 tires, so if front tread pattern differs from the rear will this matter?!

Well, if you're running different tires in the front/rear, I'm pretty sure that they will not wear at constant rates, so over time you might run into some problems (I'm no expert on this, just guessing).

You need to stick to similar tread patterns - and it's better to have all four matching (same tire, same brand, same sizing, same wear).
