4.44 ratio 4EAT?

Greetings,
I have seen a couple of different threads and stickies about 4EAT gear ratios and need some clarification.
First, I had been told that the '96, '97 & early '98 GTs and GT Limiteds had a 4.444 final drive. If this is true are there any other models that did?
Secondly, how do you tell the difference between ratios when looking a transmission say at a salvage yard warehouse? Are there any serial numbers or codes on the case?

the last 3 digits on the tranny code or serial will tell you the tranny model. now i just need to find which 3 digits those are. i think they stamp the code or serial on the tranny the same one thats on the plate. but correct me if im wrongs.
