Sup guys!
Just got a 2000 legacy GT from the parents.
and It's amazing.
I love everything about the car and it's soooo sick.
(i'm a huge noob so sorry if my questions for a while sound a bit noobish)
I was just wondering if an STI spoiler could fit on it?
my friend got one for free and he's gonna give it to me...
will it work?

Edited by HUFFER for more appropriate thread name.

Yes its been done......but you shouldn't do it......you are not an sti.

Lol very true...but it'll be free and I think it'll look pretty damn good.
There is one spoiler, however, I would LOVE to have, which is this one:

You can't see it very well...but it looks like an STI one but a lot smaller and more subtle.

But the paint and the materials to make it blend into the trunkline isn't free. And could cost you a trunk if you mess up.

I'd think the STi wing is too big. The one in the pictures looks more like a 2.5RS/ older japanese WRX STi (think 96-98 range)

try maybe trimming the height of the wing by a few inches?

An STi spoiler will fit on but it'll look ridiculous with the rest of the car being the way it is.

Tell you what, buy some good tires and some H&R springs, and go to an auto-x before you throw a spoiler on it.

^^ You don't even need to do that, just go to an auto-x with your car as it is. Seriously, everyone is nice there, everyone will help and you won't waste your money on parts that won't match your car.

And it's almost the most fun thing ever.

The STI spoiler is free and because my dad is an autobody technician the work on it is free...and he's done this stuff before so he knows what he's doin. =]

Edit: Plus, my dad really wants my spoiler on his legacy so instead of making him go out and buy a new one he's just going to give me the STI one and I'm gonna give him mine

Eh, I don't think the flow of the car will look right with an STi spoiler. You can try it if you want, but I think you'd get some criticism for it

If you want an STI spoiler on your car then put on on.

If it's your thing, do it up.

The older LGT's aren't really super-fast though. An integra's quicker off the line.

Have you looked at the base of the wing? It has 17 bolts, which means 17 perfectly aligned holes in your trunk. 17 potential leaks later. I almost put one on my '95, but decided it would be rediculous and sold it.

It's your car, do what you want. Take some pictures and let us all see them later. It sounds like you're gonna do it anyway with all the effort you're putting into defending it.

Personally, I think an sti wing looks rediculous even on an sti, but I don't have an sti or a wing so it doesn't really matter.

might can pull off the spoiler if you have the car sitting at a steady height (lowered), i seen it before, the sti spoiler actually fits the BE very well unlike the BD.

Yeah, I saw a BE with the STi wing on and the front bumper and rear bumber were STi like bumpers

I didn't recognize it until like 30 seconds later i noticed it was a BE

It was AWESOME looking

This does not seem like a good idea. I'm at work, i'll have to see the video when I get home. Sir Huffer, why doest thou pollute the minds of the youth?

Now that's funny

Please leave your spoiler alone. If you want something from an STi, take the seats.

Never Mind, *Jumps on band wagon*

You would have to get a Front bumper to pull it off.

Thanks for the pic.
Sorry if you guys don't think it'll flow with the car...I don't want to be the hated one on the forum for it..I just think it'll look really good and it's all free.

---Subba, what front bumper were you thinking of? I've found a few body kits for it but a lot of them look ridiculous on it

kk cool I'll definitely ask him what he can do.
He'll charges for materials and paint labor (his painter is realllly good so he has him do it) (you prep yourself)
it'll be way cheaper than goin to some other shop.
What color?
