Ok, so I got my clutch replaced a few months ago, and since then when I'm driving the clutch gets warm and the clutch pedal tends to stick, it almost feels like the clutch is going out but theres only 1000K + on the new clutch so it cant be going out.
Suba performance replaced it and told me to bleed the Clutch fluid, I did and it still has the same problem. How much do you think it'd cost to replace the silenoid?? I've already put $1100 in the GT on keeping her running but am afarid it's gonna make me take the tail pipe up the rear. ANY HELP PLEASE?? THANKS.....

you mean the slave cylinder or the master cylinder? brand new master cylinder from hansonmotors.com $80.68+shipping, brand new slave cylinder $53.14(rebuild kit $12.24+shipping). i would get a steel braied clutch line for it while your at it, it will help alot. you could do all the work your self, its not hard at all.

have someone that knows(no ofense meant) while your pumping the clutch. they should be able to tell by that. does it do it often or only if you ride around in a gear at a high rpm?

no offense taken, it's basically in every gear when I go for a drive any where from 30mins and longer the clutch pedal feels great for the first 10-15 shifts after that it starts to feel loose and then sticky almost like when I shift the clutch pedal sticks then pops out at me like it doesn't want to allow me to push back in on the clutch pedal. and then when it does start to happen I push the clutch pedal to the floor hard to shift after I've been driving for a while. So something major I feel is wrong..

if they didnt do pressure plate, bearing or pilot bushing. it could be one of those.

shit, I'm gonna check the invoice and let you know but I'm pretty sure they mentioned bearings replaced. here's the invoice.. clutch kit, resurfaced flywheel, exhaust donut gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust hardware, clutch fluid, so it could be those. Shit I guess I will take it to get a diagnoses on the clutch. Should I take it back to the same shop or a different??

i had a problem with my clutch pedal staying really low after some driving. but it was random. and it ended up being my pressure plate. the clutch kit should be warrentied for around 1 year or more from factory.. take it back to the place. because if it is the clutch kit the should warranty there work because you only put 1xxx miles on it.

i would take it to the same shop and a diff shop just to see what they both say. it makes sure your not getting screwed. if they didnt replace the bearing or pilot bushing i would be pissed. those are 2 things you do with every clutch job.

ok, Im most positive they replaced the bearings, and after my second visit with them on the matter, they suggested the silenoid was going out. the owner of the shop described the exact problem that I might be having without asking me whats wrong.. So I will keep you posted on what they say. Thanks for your help very informal. Like I said Clutches I'm in the dark, I know a little to get by but after that I'm googleing or getting out the text book.... THANKS

My car was doing the same thing...and it was the slave-cylinder. It was hard to shift after a while, the pedal felt loose, and i had to keep pumping the pedal to bring back the pressure. I pulled the slave cylinder out and cleaned it. Didn't repair it or anything....just cleaned it. The rubber boot slipped off, allowing sand to get into the cylinder. Sad to say i crashed that car....but the slave cylinder was the problem.

if theere going to charge you 60 bucks in labor i would get the part and do it yourself it really easy.

you might grind some gears while shifting and you'll probably lose some clutch fluid if you don't clean it. Just make sure the fluid reservoir is always full. Mine got so bad that i couldn't shift into any gears at a green light. I had to call my dad to get some brake fluid, then pump the pedal...and i was off. After that incident...i took it out and cleaned it. Just take note that: the longer you wait to clean it; the worse it'll become. I had a Toyota MR2. The engine was behind the driver....so it was different and really tight spaces to work with, but it was easy to spot. Get someone to pump the clutch pedal while your underneath the car....and you should see it moving. Here's one in action:

I would rate it 2 out of 5 for difficulty, but thats on a mid-engine car. If the fluid lines coming out of the cylinder are some kind of metal....then they might be kinda difficult to put back into place. but thats it. I do not guarantee cleaning it is gonna work, but it did for me and you could save some money. If you wanna be on the safe side, do what "Airgne" said. Buy a new one and put it in yourself.
goodluck

Actually, if your engine is similar to mine (2.5L) or if they're all similar, then the slave cylinder is better viewed from under the hood. It sits right on top of the tranny.

its not hard to do. two bolts and the line.. but clutch bleeding can be a pain sometimes, because of the small pistion in the master. just pinch off the line with some needlenose vise grips so you dont lose the prime in the master
