This is a sort of weird problem.. seems like when i downshift / take corners at a decent angle.. there is a bit of a shuddering / clicking type feeling.

I don't think its the CV's.. because it doesn't make a distinct clicking sound... and I would be able to hear it on the subaru right? i've dealt with CV's on honda's and such before.. but never a subaru.. but still.. i dont think thats the problem. Its almost like a weird rubbing / shuddering / clicking feeling?

here are a couple thing about my car that are going to be done soon that may be causing some problems possibly (just letting you know so you can help me diagnose it better):

- Struts are pretty worn out
- Brakes are pretty worn out, and front rotors need replacing.

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.. also, if anyone knows any 'tests' i can do to try to figure it out.. that would be great. Thanks!

Hmm, you think so? I wonder how much of a pain in the ass a new axle would be to put in anyways? anyone know? How could i tell which one it is? It doesnt really do it that much.. sometimes i think its just in my head.. but im not really sure how to test it?

Have somebody put it in for ya is my advice. Definitely sounds like an axle to me. See if you have a torn CV boot, it's likely that'll tell you which one is breaking.

Trust me, you don't want a broken axle (or CV joint specifically) - AWD or no, it's hard to move your vehicle around.

hmm, i will have to check it out. I haven't noticed it recently.. but I will check it out, then maybe have a mechanic check it out or me since i have NO clue how to replace an axle. I wonder how much getting this replaced would run me? probably 2 testicles and an ear or so? fuck...

I had my driver side axel replaced, I payed for a re-maned and gave in my core cost me around $100CAN

The install was done free but I am going to say that you should expect to pay 2 hours labor. Its really a 45 min job with a hoist but some people tend to rip others off.

My passenger side CV boot was torn pretty bad but no clunking/clicking/popping so I replaced it with a spare from NAPA cost $22CAN

Good luck

Yeah, i dont think its a CV .. i know what that sounds like. Might be the axle... we'll see. It doesn't seem very bad right now.. in fact.. not sure if i even feel anything anymore.
