Hello everyone!
I have been reading alot here about what swaybar might fit my BC MY92 2.0 turbo sedan, but haven`t figured it out, yet.
So help needed! I want to reduce the body-roll.
I can find tons of different swaybars, endlinks and so on to the Impreza, so all i need to know is from witch Impreza i can buy aftermarket stuff to fit my Legacy.
So this is what i need;
Rear swaybar. (adjustable?) (does: 18, 20 or 22mm fit?)
Rear endlinks.
Front endlinks.
Front swaybar bushings. (is OEM any good?)
I prefer Whiteline stuff, i`m thinking of order this stuff from the U.S so if you know any nice place that ships to Europe i would be most thankful!
Alot of questions, i hope you take the time to aswer them, cheers!
/Andreas

GC and BD stuff will work, but you have to massage your spare tire well to make it happen. Theres a bump in the middle that the bar hits. You already have an 18mm bar; it's not too bad of a size, i would probably get some springs and struts first.

Okej, that sounds fine.
I have H&R springs fitted and the car feels firm and nice but he body-roll have to go :)

What's wrong with body roll?

Okej, thank you, now i know what to buy.
It is at the racetrack the body-roll isn`t no good, is makes it hard to take a few bends just after each other, the rear rolls very much and the weight transfer is hard to controle.

Wierd, i kind of like the the way the rear end rolls, it allows me to control the weighting of the car better. Granted, though, in a slalom type piece of track the roll would be kind of a curse.
It might be worth considering that a larger rear bar will make the rear end slide more easily than a smaller one, which might end up being more of a curse than a benefit. Just an idea (and im by no means trying to mock your ability to set your own car up or anything) is that maybe a bit more strut might be able to make those transitions easier to control by reducing how quickly the suspension settles.
Front endlinks from pretty much any legacy or impreza will work, the front ones aren't too bad for stiffness, but having broke one and almost having that send me into a wall, i don't think they're too good for a performance application. I still run the oem ones (never learn, heh heh heh) but replacing them with something a bit more sturdy probably isn't a bad idea.
out to help

Yeah i have thougt about the risk with a larger swaybar, the oversteering might be just as hard to controle as the weight transfer, but therefor i`m thinking of buying a adjustable version, maybe i can find a good balance?
I just know that i want to reduce the roll, new struts might also to the job as you say but i`m not sure but i think that i already have some aftermarket struts, however, they are far from new..
But i have plenty of time making up my mind, the winter is soon here and i have arond 6 months to make up my mind witch way to go.
Koni or Whiteline? :)

rear swaybar makes a huge difference! I highly reccomend getting one. The bigger you go the easier it is to swing the rear end out in the winter, so adjustable would be good. I have a 18mm and its perfect

Today the rear swings out very very easy during the winter, almost like a rwd, me like :)
I have a 18mm swaybar, it`s stock.
It`s the behavior on dry race-track that must be better..
Swaybar or struts? hm..

more sway bar will make the rear swing more, struts (assuming yours are gettng soft) will control body motion better.

Yeah, i`m afraid that i`ll have to get some new struts, anymore oversteer might been dangerous.
It would just have been so pleasant to let the old struts be, is there anything worse than taking chassis/suspension apart on a (edit: almost) 15 year old car? Damn what a bore :o

I was looking for a thread to post this in...
Tonight a friend of mine and I discovered that the adjustable RSB on my BD is compatible with the GC Impreza 2.5RS - however the reverse is not true.
BD Legacy specific swaybars (though compatible with the BG and BK wagons) will fit the GC Impreza.
The GC Impreza (stock 17mm) bar is not compatible with the BD Legacy, due to an odd "hump" in the lower section of the spare wheel well.
The Legacy swaybar incorporates a "dip" in that section of the bar to clear the spare well. The Impreza bar is virtually flat all the way across. Apart from that, they fit all other dimensions.
So if you are a Legacy owner, and you want to sell your aftermarket RSB or a stock one - you can sell to GC Imprezas.
This also means that the wagon owners can buy from sedans and fit big beefier 24mm swaybars. :D

i would say upgrade your struts and endlinks. also, if the frame mount bushings for the sway bars are worn, they won't allow the bar to work as well because they flex. possibly look into a polyurethane replacement.
also, i dunno if this would help but have you considered the whiteline rear diff bushings? they may help a bit as well.

I have now placed a order containing Whiteline 20mm front sway, 20 mm ADJ rear sway, front endlinks, rear HD mount kit and a ADJ front strutbrace.
After some reading i found out that this is a very nice upgrade even if you run stock shocks and springs, so with my low H&R (pretty) stiff springs i`m expecting some major improvments to the handling.
I will report in when the spring arrives and some testing can take place!
ps. -25 celsius outside, lucky me, i have a snowmobile to play with :D

So on a 95 BK what would be the best swaybar set up on the rear or the front. Im currently on KYB GR2's and Tein lowering springs with the 3/8 spacers. Im not an autocross or track driver,im just looking to enhance my handling and get the most out of my current set up. Endlinks have not been replaced or Poly Bushings, whats a good start? Thanks Guy's.........
