If you don't have the remotes for it then you can just remove it from the car, or try and pick up a compatible remote on eBay.
There should be a disable button near the hood release, you can try pressing that to shut it down.
If you go the route of removing it altogether you will basically have to remove the brain up behind the driver's side lower dash and all the various harnesses that come from it. There will be one harness that plugs inline with the main ignition, this you'll unplug and then plug the 2 ends of the ignition harness back together. The other wires will go to various points on the harness with vampire clips, you can remove all these and tape up the harness. Finally you'll need to either cut or unpin the wires that go to the indicator light and the siren and pull them out.
I'm sure I have some diagrams around here of the system, if I can find them I'll post them up.
Found em (http://photos.phpwerx.net/cars/Subaru/Security_System_H7110AS600/)

probably another vehicles remote setting it off. newer GMs and a couple mazdas that are around my apartment complex set mine off all the time.

almost a year too late, but thanks dan!
Another question, does any one think if i just yank the siren out only and none of the other components out... will it affect my electrical system? would it disable my ability to start the car? I don't really have time to play with all this, i just want to yank that crappy siren out (which i believe is located by the passenger side strut mount) as described int he diagram... maybe when the summer hits, i'll get on removing my whole factory security system...
What do you guys think?

well, if you only do that, and say it doesnt disable your car (which i dont see why it would), your lights would still flash as if your alarm was going off i would think.

yeah, which i wouldn't really mind, it's the noise thing, i park right in front of a college apartment complex and i'm sure they all get annoyed when my car goes nuts... the flashing lights wouldn't bother them.

I was assuming that could lead to a dead battery. And also, when mine goes off from a different remote, it doesnt go off for that long. A couple minutes at most.

the thing is that i don't think it's due to a remote of another car. It'll just have these random spurts of craziness. a few times, in an hour, it'll go off about every 10 mins and then it'll be fine for the rest of the day. I know it'll go nuts for 2 mins and auto stop, but the fact that it's bothering others for a straight 2 mins... i would get annoyed. I had a university police call me today saying that my car was going nuts frequently for a while now i need to do something about it... reason why i remembered this thread.
i guess when i get home this weekend.. i'll try to pull out the siren.

is there anyway i could turn off the chirps when you unlock it but still keep the locking chirps and alarm?

I dont think there is on the earlier models (BD era). I could be wrong though, ive never read anywhere about how to turn them off.
I read somewhere you can do something on the newer ones to get it not to beep the horn, something with pressing the buttons or something, i dont remember what it was or where i read it.
