View Full Version : Stromung make the difference?

I just got my new exhaust(random tech cat, 2.25 piping and a borla resonator) the muffler (megan oem spec) is buzzing/rattling at high rpms, plus its loud as hell and ricey sounding. I have been looking at getting a stromung axel back, because, the tone will come down maybe pulling out some of the ricey sound, and no more rattling hopefully, for the price do you guys think its worth it and it will make that much of a difference in sound?

Question: does your midpipe have a resonator installed?

And, ditch the Megan racing muffler crap and find something that has a bit of baffling. You could put in an STi axleback and be perfectly happy.

I'll tell you the problem, it's because you have a 2.2. The same Borla muffler that I had on my GT sound great. Now it's on my L and sounds like shit. Maybe I can score an SPT axle back from somebody.

Well like Roger said a better muffler will help. I wouldn't get an STi muffler. Put your stock cats back on.

Borla UEL headers + Stromung midpipe/catback.

one person on Nabisco once told me 3 years ago.. the larger the engine the bigger the bang/deeper sound.

Something my 1.8L impreza never could do.. I hated how it sounded.

Yeah it sounds like my 240 kinda right now but Im thinking I could get a little more boxer rumble out of a stromung.

yea ive checked it out and unless the impreza's will fit the legacys all i see on that site is impreza stuff

How about writing them or calling. Sometimes direct contact will get you better results than a website.

yea your right about that, been on the hunt for less than 24hrs, i prefer to get info from ppl that have tryed and tested rather than talking to someone whos objective is to make money.

thanks for the info tho, seen that one just not 100% sure if its for wagon or sedan and the style i am looking for.
