yeah it would actually run in a fashion but only at like a few hundred revs and it would cut out as soon as you tried to touch the throttle. Had the AA out to it as well and he also said fuel pump. Ill pull it out tomorrow and have a lok at it but just wondered if there was a common cause at all?

just go after a long life. you going to go with a OE style pump or a sarg or something that flow a little more?

It does sound like your pump is bad. It could also be your fuel pump relay that could be bad and that should be a cheaper replacement then the pump itself; but that's just a thought. Did you already fix the problem?

Hi yeah I found the prob. it was the fuel pump itself. Despite what the AA guy said there is a supply to it (he was checking the wrong wire) but he was right as far as the pumps concerned. It measures open circuit.
Ive got one coming day after tomorrow, got the Walbro one, Im just thankful that Subaru had the foresight to put an access panel under the back seat and not made it so I had to take the tank off..Id just filled it up!
