Variable Intermittent wipers

Has anyone ever switched the fixed ittermittent wipers on their BE to variable? I have heard that all you need to replace is the control stock on the steering wheel... Any advice or instructions on this procedure would be helpful.

I just replaced mine in a BH series 03 legacy wagon...posted over in the interior section...simple...vertually the same instal as the impreza mod done on other sites...got link to that too...bd
