1990 Toyota Supra Turbo Hardtop 5spd
7MGTE engine
JDM 7M(not like it's a mod, just low mile)
Titan Motorsports 1.4mm Metal HeadGasket
ARP Head Bolts
SemiSolid MotorMounts (a 75 shore A neoprene spacer sandwiched by 2 pieces of 6061 T6)

Cusco Front Strut Tower Bar **retired... :(
Defcon DP (3" turbo to cat)
3" test pipe or 3" Random Tech high flow cat
no cat back
Blitz DDBOV
um.. future mods.
new headgasket, probably a Cometic 2mm Metal HG
new oil pump
Front Facing Intake Manifold
Walbro fuel pump
bigger injectors (680cc?) stock is 440cc
MAF + MAFt (allows us to use a GM hotwire MAF sensor instead of our restrictive Karmann type)
custom downpipe with cutout to dump under passenger door
Master Power Turbo of some sort... probably a T04
Tubular Manifold
install PTE "medium" IC
custom 2.5 IC pipes to IC, then from IC to TB 3" w/MAF in blow through
Suspension Techniques Swaybars
Rims. 17x9 and 17x10. not sure what, as long as they have a good lip.
every rubber line either silicone or stainless braided
Mocal or similar oil cooler
install Oil Filter Relocation Kit
bunch of stuff powdercoated (suspension parts mostly)
tinkering with the idea of a 6pt cage....
converting interior to black? dunno... every time i think of it, it seems easy, but when i look at it, i dont want to do it anymore (mine's a brown/tan cloth)
and my least favorite thing... paint. shouldnt be too much, though. i'm gonna prep it all myself and bring it down to the shop basically a stripped, sanded, primed, and masked shell.
shooting for 400hp which is conservative, even for a stock block.
its a lot of work, but it's mostly just that. work.
anyway, thanks for lookin.

that's gorgeous 8) i've always liked the mk3. they're what a supra should look like to me

couldnt agree with you more, belladonna.
imo.. the mkiv looks like a jellybean.
its just too bad how many people think otherwise.
i, personally, like sharp bodylines and sort of square features.
it's all too often that people ask "what kind of car do you have" and i say "supra" and they're like "WOW!! you have a SUPRA???! twin turbo?" and i say.. "no. it's not the one in the fast and the furious... it's a 90. it IS Turbo, but not twin."
and more than once, i've gotten the response "oh, really... thats too bad."
oh well. there's TONS of nice supras on the forum i go to if you're interested in looking at www.supramania.com (http://www.supramania.com)
also, the owner of www.carbonfibrefx.com (http://www.carbonfibrefx.com) has an 89 supra that is very nice. there's pictures on his website.

i have seen the supramania forum before and there are some really nice sups there....
yeah, don't get me wrong, the mk4 is nice too, but not in the same way those mk3s are 8) they just scream power to me.
i have a friend here who owns a second gen and he loves the thing to death

Nice 90 ! That is my favorite bodystyle AND version of the MKIII platform. As I mentioned earlier I had an '89 Red Turbo. In '89 they changed the front air dam and cleaned up the lines nicely. It was an improvement both inside and out on the MKII Supra which I enjoyed as well.
supra90turbo - I can't tell, is yours a targa ? Mine way, bought it used so that's what you get. It really was nice and felt like a convertible with the top removed but could you ever feel that body flex over train tracks and other uneven pavement.
I'm rather jealous of your "future mods" list. I could barely afford the car when I had mine so I was left to dream over the HKS catalog. Its such a great platform to mod the motor. Until the MKIV craze happend people would just not believe that you could daily drive a 500hp MKIII Supra and it wasn't much different from stock puttering around.
Since those cars are now 15 years + old we can import them into Canada from Japan. I've always been tempted to bring over a MKIII twin turbo (ceramic turbo's). I think that's a 2.5 motor.
What tires do you run ? I used 245/40/16's on the stock wheels, steering at parking speeds was a little more difficult but did the car ever stick welll in the corners. I'm rambling on about a past luv, nice car !

heh. thanks, all!
thank you GT Wagon, i love it, and will post pics of it in its current state :(
it's a little less pretty, but it sports the jackstands well ;)
mine is not a targa. i was fortunate. although i was looking for a hardtop, i didnt expect to find one in such good condition as i did mine.
i picked it up with 138,000mi on it for $2500, which is good, since the guy wanted $3400 :D
nothing was wrong with it, except rear strut mounts (only one, actually)
then i found out that it had a massive oil leak, and that the camshaft "screws" were barely tight, if at all....
then it blew the headgasket. so it went down for the first time, i got a m4dd tyte JdM engine with a fresh MHG and ARP head studs, but that only last about a year before that HG started leaking, current teardown proved poor MHG preparation, causing boost to pressurize the coolant system, then it would relieve itself, so to speak, in the #6 cylinder...
and, yeah, targa's are a known "wet noodle" as far as body rigidity goes...
a couple braces help that out immensely, however. get a rear strut tower bar, and if you can find one (i have one) a hatch bar that connects the two "C" pillars at the seatbelt guide bolts.
i would advise that you do import a good condition JZA70 supra. the 1JZ is a great engine, and you are correct. it is a 2.5L with twin ct12a ceramic turbos.
i always ran stock tire size, but this time, i think i'm going to run MKIV TT 17's with some 255s up front and 275-295(not sure) out back.
gah.. i just want it to run again.
