I have a silver 2007 Legacy SE wagon. Not lots of power but it is a nice ride. In any case I have my windows tinted at 20% all around. It looks great with the 17" rims, the giant sunroof and the Yakima roof racks I added, and who is going to get pulled over in a station wagon for window tinting. Hopefully I did not speak to soon.

I think it's a rhetorical statement.
20% tint is pretty dark. As long as you drive responsibly and aren't too loud, you will probably get away with looking pimp.

I think he mistook this for a forum section where you post what your interior is like.

unless you can prove that its OEM equipment they can still issue you a ticket, i have 20% all around and never been pulled over thus far. It all depends on a mood af a cop if he thinks you're douch and he/she in a bad mood and got nothing to do they'll wwrite you up for anything. I had a friend that got 100 dollar ticket for each window from one cop all he did was not signal while switching lanes and got a ticket for that and for ashing out the window (it was in PA) all together it came close to 700 worth of tickets in 5 minutes. so it all depends on your luck and mood of the cop.

yesturday i saw a reverse traffic stop...a guy in a car was behind a cop at the side of the road and the normal guy was at the cops window lol just talking though but it was pretty random

I tried that, still got a warning and a "You might get pulled over for this again". Apparently, according to my friends dad, who is an occifer of the law, any tint is illegal. It's just that some cops look the other way because it's not a big deal. BUTTTTTTT if you get some sort of legal document from an optom...optomitr....eye doctor, you can have it as dark as you like

And that depends on what state you live in.

Colorado's law is 27% max. I have 30% on my front two windows and 15% on my back windows. Light green interior = tint looks lighter.
Either way, I know I'm illegal, and that's fine. It's why I wasn't given a receipt for my purchase

Interesting... Washington's law is 35% light must show through on all windows (except windshield of course), with no more than 35% reflectivity on the side windows.

Here in Newfoundland tint is illegal on the front windows, no tint at all but theres no limit on the back windows at all. My car has 5% in the back and I would say 10 or 15% on the front windows, cant see in at all from any distance.

I dont know why the hell people put such dark tint on the back windows.. i had a car with 20% once on the back.. and i hated it.. couldnt see shit.

in vermont it's a secondary offense, they have to have a better reason to pull you over here (defective equipment, inspection, etc...), not just for your tint, then they can say "oh by the way...".
But they'll find a reason.

I tinted mine because I used to work out of my car and it provided me with the following benefits:
- Get things done with relative privacy
- Concealed things that I kept in the car to deter theft while parked
- Kept the car cooler in the summer so things I kept in the car didn't get quite so hot, and reduced the need to crank the A/C and idle the car when I'm just working there for a few minutes

5% on the rear window is extremely dark. I went 25% all around but left my back window at 35% just because I was concerned about this, and 35% was still dark. I upgraded by reverse lights because I was afraid I would miss seeing a mailbox or something while backing out of people's driveways in the middle of the night.

I had "limo tint" on my first car on the rear windows and thought it looked great cuz the car itself was black. But backing up at night...forget about it. Might as well stick your head out your window to see where you're going. Tried getting brighter reverse lights but those didn't do anything.
I have a light tint on all the windows on my BD, came from the dealer that way. Front windows are illegal in VT but I'm not going to take it off. Thought about tinting the back ones darker again but I think I'm set where I'm at.

In michigan the only law on tint is you can't have any front windows tinted unless it is the top 4 inches which looks stupid.
I have a black BE with 5% tint on all the back windows including the rear windshield and backing up at night is a joke. I have to open the door and lean out but it looks bad ass.

Here in Texas its 35% front and 20% all around the others. If I remember correctly that is. I think you can have limo tint in the rear window tho.
