My BD currently has 115000 miles on it and the brakes feel really bad lately... just spongy and long stopping distance. The pads are fine.

Is it common to have to change the brake pump on these cars? I know my rotors are pretty worn, but I dont think thats causing the sponginess.

Did you recently had any work done to your brakes?

spongyness can mean that you have air in the system somewhere. to put a big blanket over the problem, get new rotors or machine the ones you have on now. And bleed the brakes...if the spongyness still there, bleed the abs solenoid thingie on the left hand side of the engine bay...near the end of your intake
also check if you have a leak coming from somewhere...

I may just be an idiot but I would think that it could also be the 11 year old brake lines... I know I desperately wish to replace mine, but my car is 2 years older, and has over 100 thousand more miles on it.

I recently installed SS hoses and new pads on the BK and the pedal feels almost as firm as on my track day car. On my old BJ I just replaced the pads and did a full bleed and the pedal is still pretty spongy. I suspect the hoses, after 100,000+ miles are starting to lose their integrity.

Both cars are a bit over 100,000 mi. and neither had the master cyl. replaced.
