i have a 98 legacy wagon and want to replace the 4 stock 6" speakers. it seems, according to crutchfield, due to depth size, i am limited to certain models of sony, kenwood and pioneer. does anyone have any input from their own experience. i realize sound is a subjective matter so fwiw i listen mostly to jazz. thanks

shallow mounts will bolt up without factory mounts. other speakers will fit with the factory mounts as long you dont have a huge two/three way sticking out.. i have speaker with a 4"ish depth w/ factory mounts and they fit in fine no issues

i made some little spacers that were made out of sheet metal all bent into a clamp and then screwed into the door and speaker
