Well, A lot has changed causing it to slow WAYYYY down. My friend was planning on trying to get a stock EJ20R into his GT wagon, but due to crazy amounts of work, and lack of aftermarket support, we (both of us are involved because I'm R&D, and he's the mechanic) decided to convert it to single turbo and do some upgrades. So we upgraded to a 99 WRX ECU (which is matched for the yellow top 440cc stock injectors) bigger TMIC, bell mouth DP, after market header + Up pipe, and a clocked and converted VF40 (Stock LGT turbo) fed by the aftermarket silicone hoses (which are causing problems as seen in the pics, but we'll get it worked out shortly).
He just finished freshening up everything like the timing belts and what not, and bought a stage two Exedy clutch and LW flywheel, which will be going in to the stout tranny with a matched 2000 Automatic 2.5 RS rear diff running 4.44 gears and VLSD.
We only have a few things left to source like rear axles (anyone know how wide the BK is compared to a WRX sedan or Wagon?) and some misc. parts before it gets dropped in the end of summer. We will start the wiring within the next month, and then the fun begins!
This thing should be a freaking beast when all is said and done, the EJ20R is a crazy engine with all sorts of goodies like sodium filled valves, forged rods and crank, semi closed deck plus a few other things.
Here are a few pics from the test fit of the new hoses. You can also see the interference from the IAC, this will be resolved shortly with a block of plate for the stock BOV location and moving it to the other side. (the TMIC is meant for a Bugeye WRX which have no IAC right there.) OR if there's enough room, the TMIC will just be moved back towards the firewall
PS. I was the one who powder coated the manifold, it turned out amazing as you can tell. If anyone wants to get it done, let me know, I still have some powder and will have access to everything again in the fall semester in August!
Sorry for some blur!
