Thats cause they are.....they fit over the Subaru 4pot/2pot brake system....USDM WRX rims don't.

I had a chance to buy a set in silver locally for $400 picked up....but passed on it. Thats when I went for the 05LGT rims....much more common here should something happen to them (summer rims)....would be more $$$ and more of a hassle to go after the BE B4 rims (or AKA AUS WRX rims (silver), or AKA JDM STi Ver7 wagon rims (gold))

The BE B4 rims come in the color you see...anthracite.

edit: for me...I can't decide between the S401 rims and the Ver7 sedan rims. The Ver7 rims have beauty in their simplicity and I'm a junkie for 5 spokes...

but the S401 rims are just so damn sexy. bad? try cleaning them. blech.

I guess I just don't like the S401s because they're too fancy. I like the simplicity in design on the BG GTs or maybe the Ver7 STis, but the S401s look too fancy for my car...

Not saying they suck, just saying I wouldn't buy. I'll take a free pair though :twisted:

I really don't like the S401 rims... :? .. They don't really fit the car IMO. I'm with GGT, give me some five spokes, spit or otherwise, and i'm a happy man.

BB98, try Legacygt.com, thats where I scored my set. $500 with stock tires with 400 miles on them.

It was a local sale, so there was no shipping.

There was one member on that site who GAVE his set away at the cost of shipping....of course it was in Nevada and occured at like 637 in the morning....I'm not on the computer that early (or late :lol: )

I'll keep my eyes open, but since they fit over the Subaru 4pots (and rear 2 pots) they could be another sought after item. And since Subaru is bringing those brakes over as stock items on the 06 WRX, those wheels may be even MORE highly sought after....

To me, those S401 wheels are the sexiest things ever. I've been thinking about getting a set or Rota Formels or BBS RGRs to mimick the look. I have never seen a paint that could even slightly mimick the BBS Diamond Black finish, but the BBSs cost $594 each and still weigh 17.6lbs. I could get a full set of Formels for that cost, but never be able to get the Black Diamond color. Someone throw some money my way??

Word is, no matter if you had money to buy the S401 rims....you can't get them over the counter. at least from what I've heard. I may be wrong....but these are EXCLUSIVE rims to say the least.

Yes, the diamond black finish is the best I've seen. Drop Dead Sexy.
