wow.. maybe it's just me but the projectors look much larger then on the internet and other shots posted..

ebay seller was cool threw in two extra things (Japanese noodles and a little book)

Noodles are good I would always stop by the Japanese mart on my way home.. I used to come by so many times in a month they would give me free things to try.

*EDIT

question the left side headlight is missing the harness plug for the light do I really need this since I only need the High beams to work I can just cut and splice the wire?

haha.. i wonder if all the japanese sellers are doing this now..which one was it? i got some free chopsticks, like real wooden ones.. which are pretty cool. gives it a 'personal' touch. i think thats why they are doing it..either way.. kinda cool.

and btw.. why do you ONLY need the high beams to work.. that does NOT sound like a good idea to me man.. they put out some damn good light.. and your going to piss a whole lot of people off if you do that.

I suppose if the harness is gone.. why dont you just hardwire the whole thing? Or you might be able to fab a plug somehow by going to an auto store or something?

Very cool! I just got a set of JDM headlights on Monday, and installed them in about 1.5 hours. They are sooooo much better than the old headlights. My old ones had almost no light output because the lenses were completely yellow and ugly as heck. Now I just need to aim them because the driver's side projector is aiming off into the other lane.

Yeah I will have to adjust the passenger side light now since I was going to take out the projector but I saw it was adjusting the light.

Anyone ever try to remove the projectors? I was thinking to myself given the way the cut off is for the lamps I could switch them and they should at least aim better? But I think you need to put the light housing in the oven to do something like that?

Several people have baked them. I did mine at 220 degrees F for about 17 minutes. Make sure you take the screws out before baking.

I thought about that but you cant reverse the projectors because if you look at the adjustment screws they are not in the same area if you switch them.

They could use a light polish however. I'm not sure if the marks or inside or outside.

I'm talking about the screws that hold the clear plastic to the black, when you bake.

i was going to get 3000k, but somehow let my stupid friends talk me out of it

I put some yellow HID's in it was ok but not as great as I hoped it would of been.. but then again they were H7's and did not go in all the way but I saw the gist of it.

Wow. Those look so amazing. I wish my Legacy was in good enough shape to justify a set of headlights like that. But for what I use the car for theres always a risk of smacking a tree or something and I'd always worry about those headlights.

Nice Black out job. I have a set of JDM's that came with Raybrig's.

Are you gonna hook up your city lights? Mine came w/blue L.E.D's that I switched to amber. I hooked 'em up to the parking lights. Looks good and close to factory.

the city light is useless also im converting the headlights for LHD I did a quick test yesterday and this morning way better then I thought. and I finally picked up a dremel lmao.. I did take shots and video.. also should I want to change projectors I can do so with ease I also think frosted glass for a projector sucks.. and what happened to an email when you have a new reply?

1-3-2-4
10-22-2008, 04:47 AM
also don't think you can just flip the side of the projectors since that won't work gotta do some metal work!

HeresMyMind
10-22-2008, 08:47 AM
yeah. I can show you how to make those specific projectors LHD cutoffs if you want. but it really is a waste. should jsut retro. yes you can change to a LHD shield but that bowl is made for halogen so HID in it throws off the optics. I PM'd u my cell if u wanna work on em together. I am working on mine tonight at work. i got something amazing in the woodworks!

its so easy to do a retro what's the fun in that? lol like I said before I can always change it out and I got mynew lenses in and if I ever do a retro I don't think I will use a tsx projector I would use a TL projector

HeresMyMind
10-22-2008, 09:23 AM
TL's wont fit. I have already tried :-D

how did you black them out? what did you use to do it?
i want them, lol

Plays_with_Toys

If I were to black them out like that, I would also black mask off the dish reflector of the highbeam, but paint all the flat walls around it. Then I'd take the chrome piece off the actual lense, and black that whole thing. Looks like panda lights to me- Pics of them on the car?

11-08-2008, 10:40 PM
[quote="Then I'd take the chrome piece off the actual lense, and black that whole thing.[/quote]

what part do you mean? the bottom on the high beam lense?

Plays_with_Toys

My JDM beams looked like this disassembled:
http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/6206/oven1qg0.jpg

There's a chrome ring attached to the lense that had more chrome going around the highbeam part and around the other sections. You can see the line that seperates the highbeam and the actual chrome ring around the headlight in this pic on the far left of the light:

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/

I can see it in your lights too. As for the high beams, only the conical part of the lense projects light, so the flat spots of the high beam chrome dish could be painted black as well.

1-3-2-4
11-09-2008, 09:03 AM
Yes I know i could of painted that part of the high beam black but I was unsure how it would look.. as far as the ring around the projector I could of did that as well but I just let it be..

I used Krylon black paint for plastics

and I used JB wield for holding on the aluminum metal sheet holding up the new cut out I made (that stuff is no joke like they said) word to the wise don't put your finger 3 inches in front of a hot HID bulb unless you like roasted fingers :)

I did install a 48 superflux amber turn signals it's not that bad.. not brighter then stock but comes close..

headlights are done pretty much I might do a yellow highbeam. Around the last week of DEC is when I go get the car so I will install them then. My first vacation is in Feb. so I gotta get away ;)

after that I plan on using the bonus money for some JDM tails and putting in some very bright reverse lights that will most likely need heatsinks on them to keep them cool. having said that does anyone have pictures of the JDM reverse light on? from pictures it seems like the reverse part is about 4 inches long and 2 inches tall?

should have kept it exactly like the picture before your last post. do the corners look orange cause they dont have the same effect on the car ?

the turn signals only work as turn signals and they don't look that orange I'm using a normal bulb it in.

the hi beams are useless with the lows on anyways..

it's a pain to keep the headlights clean because of all the time sitting in the sun.
