So this problem just came up a few days ago.
On and off, my speakers would basically shut off in my car, didn't know why. The head unit is still getting signal, is still on, and ect, but nothing come from any speaker. I pop the trunk, and voila! speakers come back on perfectly normal. But shut it, and they're gone again. I tested it at different heights before closing, and right when its maybe 2-3 inches from being in the closed position, the speakers shut off.
The trunk light is on so I think that rules out any kind of short related to the trunk. But i really have no idea what it could be.
If it makes a difference, I have a JVC HDR-1 HU, and 4 aftermarket speakers + the premium subaru tweeters. really have no idea what could be causing this.
I like enjoying the exhaust note, but i miss my music too =[
