OK so this Saturday I was gonna get them installed but was thinking that I should maybe wait considering its about 7hrs of Time...WTF 7hrs BTW seems very long but I could be wrong. And wondering two things. I have the 04 STI Struts, Springs and TopHats, so do i need anything else to get those put on. Second should I wait to get them put on and get new ball joints. I hear a bad metal to metal bang every time im taking a turn and hitting some small bumps and also when braking from 40mph or higher my wheels wobble. I was told it was probably my ball joints so I was thinking of purchasing new ones and For labor time im guessing it would be smarter to just get it all done at the same time. Thanks -Nick
PS: Car has 120k Miles and im pretty sure NONE of the suspension has ever been touched.

Pre-soak all your exposed bolts to PB blaster every couple of hours for a day or so prior.
You have complete suspension (based on the pic you posted) so it should be a bolt -on job.
I say do it, and if it's a ball joint problem you'll know after the install.

I said fuck it and ordered two new Moog ball joints just because I wanna put new parts on this old car, now if its stil there I can check two things off the list ha. But really did it because its right there when there doing the suspensio so why not. Will I need to get 04 STI Top Hat bolts or will mine Work? He didnt supply those! Thanks -Nick

when you have the sti struts out spray the strut rod down with generous amount of lithum grease to try to even the strut to start knocking.. thats the only bad thing about sti suspension the start knocking after they get 20k miles on them.
but for the ball joints do them after the suspension but before an alinement if it still has the problem

Why do them after? I mean I will if there is a reason, but for labor charges I would rather just do it now.

well it would be hard to take out the ball joints if the strut is not mounted . the hub would be moving all over the place. so do the suspension button that up and then do the ball joint well the wheels are off. they really give 7hrs to do struts all around? i just did 04 suspension on a 04 xt did it in about 3 hours and that was taking taking 05 sti struts apart(yes some idiot on nasioc sold it as 04) and puting the springs on the 04.

You'll need STi top-hats if you have STi springs & struts...

yea I have only had my hand in one Suspension install and it was just some springs. It was all good untill we got to the LCA bolts then it went to shit. Long story short we had to hammer it out. Also like someone stated before getting them installed the day before get some pb blaster and just sprey it on any bolt that is on the suspension. It'll help with the bolts getting off.

Chicago - you have everything you need - just pull your old suspension out, and install the new ones. You don't need to assemble anything. Just take the bolts off the strut-to-hub, and undo the top hat bolts, unclip the brake line, voila.

I don't think the WRX suspension really does any lowering either. They're going to be around the same.

Oh, someone one here said the WRX would lower the car a little, so I just assumed that it did. Anyone know a good lowering spring for this setup?
*edit* Went looking for how much the guy said it would lower.
"The car will be dropped very moderately" so idk i just assumed it was somewhere under 3/4 of an inch.
