So just as a confirmation. For my new BE if I want a oem hood for a scoop, Baja turbo hood is my option right? All 00-04 Legacy are using the same hood? anyone know which year of Baja I can look for for a compatible hood?

Any year Baja turbo hood will fit your BE.

100% true. Baja turbos were only availible 04, 05, and 06, so there you go. Just as a word of warning, it's still a very heavy steel hood. Not like the wrx's that goat aluminum, the Baja-T hood is for appearences only.

Will the baja hood be heavier than my stock lgt hood? Is there any other option?

no I think he just meant don't look for it to be a lightweight option, it's not going to be heavier than the stock legacy hood

There is a messy option..
You can go out and buy a scoop off a wrx or a 2.5rs or something and put it on yourself..
I'm gonna be doing it in a month or 2...I'll have a detailed writeup with lotttts of pics

Well i just bought a JDM b4 scoop with diffuser from eBay for 100$ shipped, may be I'll ask my local bodyshop what they think about cutting the BE stock hood but I'll probably buy a turbo Baja hood and sell my stock BE hood. Sounds like a simple and cost effective solution if custom work is tricky..

haha nice nice.
well my dad has a TON of experience with cutting and making custom stuff on cars so he knows exactly how to go about it and everything.
post pics of the scoop!

It's been done. It looks...depends on who is looking at it:

BigLooga's ride. The scoop is at least functional for this STi swap in there.

I'm still wondering why people want a hole in their hood just for aesthetics to begin with.

It's borderline rice, and at the very least making a car out into something that it is not.

Having the BE "scoop" molded onto your current hood will take more work than getting an WRX one on because it will involve cutting some of the supports and hammering or pressing out a bulge on the hood and then cutting a hole in there. It will take some real fabrication to get it done.

Well, good luck with your experiment and keep us updated.

I paid $175 w/ scoop for my Baja hood and I needed a replacement anyways.

Well justified to me, and I like how it looks.

Occasionally you can get lucky and find JDM hoods. They came in aluminum and steel. If you have the option, get the aluminum one, very nice

I was unaware that the BE/BH hoods came in aluminum in JDM-Land. Does anyone in the states actually have an aluminum hood?

Yep, there was a limited alloy run. They are super light. They dent easily though.

I thought that new guy from ECS has one on his swapped BE?

If any body knows in the seattle area, Where can I find that Baja turbo hood. I just need to know where I can find it, I think it would be a good look on by GT
