"If you want a seven-passenger vehicle in the States, your choices are few. Those of you shopping for just such a vehicle can longingly gaze at the Subaru Exiga. It goes on sale today in Japan, but in the latest press release from Subaru, there are no plans for U.S. export mentioned.

The Exiga's naturally-aspirated 2.0L engine outputs 146 hp, while the sportier GT model with intercooler and turbocharger makes 221 hp. Passengers are treated to a huge panoramic roof that rivals even the new Jetta Sportwagen.

Around the Autoblog office complex, there are several wagon fans who love to get their hands on one of these. But for now, we have no reason to believe Subaru will bring the Exiga over here.' - autoblog

Looks like competition for the Mazda5... which I prefer over this fat Legacy wagon.

What I don't get though, is the headlights. Every recent release has had projectors. This one doesn't, it seems?

I like it. It's the closes thing to a minivan I could ever see myself driving.

-Will it come to the US?
-Will the weak-ass 2.0 be replaced with a 2.5?

That huge slab of glass adds a ton of weight, I can't imagine it being very peppy with 146hp.

My wife and I were wanting a bigger vehicle than her Outback and were looking at a Tribeca, but this looks much better. I do not want to go back to a SUV and I can't stand minivans, so I think this is an awesome alternative.

UGH!!

I hope Subaru can get out of their 'blend-in' phase and get back to making funky cars again. I still love the current generation legacy and Outback, but the new Impreza and now this; come on guys, cut lose and make the Baja again. I don't want to confuse a Subaru for a Toyota.

its not bad.. considering it comes in wrblue and for the space id rock the sh*t out of one, 7 passengers wow. it looks too cool to be a mini van.. if you think about it ,it looks like the legacy that was between 04and 06 like it should be a 05 see how the headlights have the basic shape of the 04 and the 06

I'm pretty sure it will be sold here. They discontinued the Legacy Wagon, to pave the way.

They still have the outback though.

And the only reason they discontinued the Legacy wagon was to try to differentiate the model lines. The rest of the world still gets it, Subaru America sucks the big one again.

And you guys are upset this isn't coming stateside? Ughhghghgh.... Maybe as a forester replacement (since the new SUV forester is an atrocity) but wow. I guess I don't understand this trend towards bigger and bigger cars. Every year cars get heavier and uglier.

Holy ugliness indeed...

What I don't get is the bonnet line... It comes with a damn EJ20, why the heck do they have room in there for two!?

it has 3 rows, dont tell me you all are planning to race it lol

For a Subaru Commuting vehicle, i don't see a problem with it.
